Glad I got to see ZZ when they passed through Philly this past summer(2019). Great song, great show. Happy Birthday today(December 16) to Billy Gibbons. Cheers!

That guitar solo is just this side of deranged.

I remember when this came out. I was ten years old and my uncles wore this song out. Lol

We need to think about what kind of world we leave these guys!!!

My favorite song, off of my favorite album of theirs. A friend bought this album for me for my birthday, as well as tickets for the tour. When I first listened to it, I thought it was just about the weirdest shit I'd ever heard. And I loved it. The concert was a blast as well, and I especially liked the petal necklaces dangling from the guitar and bass during that song.

Here's something that never gets old: when I find myself in a conversation with arrogant amateur music experts, talking about lyrics, I'll mention this song in the same breath as the very best of, say Roger Waters or Bruce Springsteen as some of the most profound I've ever heard. Arrogant audiophiles generally don't listen to stuff like this and so probably have never heard this song, but I assure them it's lyrical buried treasure. I could only imagine them running out to buy the album, going home and putting it on the turntable, and hearing "Mumm mum mumm buh mumm bum bum" and wondering if there's something wrong with their hearing. I have never, but never had anyone come back and say a single thing about it, which means I trolled them, and hard. Over the decades I've done this to many people and it never loses its charm. Q

Amazing song with that delicious funky feel that can also be heard on Tejas' Snakky Kakkie and Deguello's Cheap Sunglasses! Maybe the last song on which Frank Beard plays complex jazzy beats as in the early records before switching to his lazy "poum chak" dance beat in 1983! I like Eliminator but it still prefer 71-81-era ZZ Top, and on Afterburner they definitely went too far in that synthrock stuff! Recycler was a good and fresh comeback to blues, and later Beard also came back to a more complex drumming style, on Rhythmeen he grooves a lot, on Mescalero he sounds quite tired but still has the groove!

What can you say about ZZ Top that hasn't been said? How about they played Augusta GA's Bell Auditorium last night 10/26/16 and I'm listening to all the song they didn't play! The first I heard of this band was in 8th grade in 1973 I believe and a friend whom later killed himself played Just Got Back From Baby's ! I have forever been a fan from the first minute of that song !
