Zevon, Warren - Never Too Late For Love Lyrics

You can't find him
The way is dim
You feel like giving up
You ache for her
Rest assured
It's never too late for love

You say you're tired
How I hate to hear you use that word
Every time it hurts
You say you're tired
How I hate to hear you use that word
Everybody hurts

Things go wrong
The days are long
You think you've had enough
You feel discouraged
Rest assured
It's never too late for love

You say you're tired
How I hate to hear you use that word
Every time it hurts
You say you're tired
How I hate to hear you use that word
Everybody hurts

Who am I to say
I know the way you feel
I've felt your pain
And I know your sorrow
You could try to let the past slip away
Live for today
Don't stop believing in tomorrow

You've come so far
The way is dark
You feel like turning back
But the way is black. . .
The way is black. . .

You can't find him
The way is dim
You feel like giving up
You ache for her
Rest assured
It's never too late for love

You say you're tired
How I hate to hear you use that word
Every time it hurts
You say you're tired
How I hate to hear you use that word
Everybody hurts

Who am I to say
I know the way you feel ?
I've felt your pain
And I know your sorrow
You could try to let the past slip away
Live for today
Don't stop believing in tomorrow

Damn. We all try so hard. He's like a long lost Brother to me. God bless you Warren, I said that the day I heard you passed on.

  3. M.... ....

Respected by fellow rock artists and novelists alike, Warren was a knowledgeable and articulate man. His lyrics read like literature and if I do say so myself, the man behind them is utterly fascinating. Sorely missed. Rock on, Mr. Zevon

  4. S.... ....

It’s indeed never too late. I’m only in my 30s but found my one true love this year. Thank you Warren for your amazing music and lyrics. See you in the next life, and wake me up for meals

  5. M.... P....

I love this song, because I believe Warren when he said He knows the way I feel. I really believe he does. And it makes me feel less alone.

I found the love of my life at 68yo. You never, never know!!!

Who played lead guitar on this song?

    g.... ....

Though it sounds like David Lindley it was Waddy Wachtel.

    g.... ....

    Waddy of course!

I've been a big fan of Warren's music for a long time. I was looking up some of his older music that I've never heard. I meant to listen to "looking for the next best thing." I ended up clicking this song on Apple Music. Song really brought a few tears to my eyes. Incredible song.

very cool music i loved it liked it very much

I just heard it for the first time and it could not be more appropriate. I've said I was tired many times. I've said it is too late. I am older now than Warren was when he died. Thank you, God of Synchronicity, for bringing me here.

heard this for the first time (that I recall) the other day, while I was waking up. took me 3 days to figure out the song. "you say you're tired, how I hate to hear those words" both caught my attention, and helped me identify the song!( thanks internet!) could be interpreted in a worldly or spiritual sense. BTW my wife thought is sounds stupid, so it MUST BE GOOD!

    E.... ....

    These lines stick with you.

  20. P.... M....

A Magnús opus by the offender

Next favorite song from Warren Z. :-) Incredible. Only a few comments - it seems to me, only a few of us know that his music is just fantastic ...

  23. g.... ....

This is one of his amazing songs that never got the love or attention it deserved.

  24. T.... L....

The lyrics are so incredible - just like Warren was.

  25. M.... C....

I like this song because it influences a lot of factors of my life. It's never too late for anything. Sometimes you just have to bite a bullet to get it done. Miss you Warren. Your music was amazing and your message is still living on.

  29. M.... ....

Amazing song, this one. Amazing guitar sound too, even though the instrument is only really there to colour in. Six spine-chilling notes at the 3.33 mark.

    I agree. Great job, Waddy
