This is like a libertarian-atheist anthem. No wonder pen jillete loved him so much.

For me Zappa's music is the gold standard for locating where any person is on the funda-Mental-ist spectrum. In other words, if you shit on my castle's door step and try to rob me of my inherent right to Double Knit hijinks and faithlessness, do I attribute that to an act of God, or merely the undivine intervention of some random gratuitous force of cosmic absurdity?
And if the answer hits you when you're on the crapper singing along with this, than you get the gist of what I mean.

He would have been a great independent yet famous figure that would be critical and unbiased to all politicians, including Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton. It would have been nice to hear him give everyone their fair share of scrutiny, since so many famous people nowadays are biased to having a side, whereas Frank Zappa was sideless

I like the Captain Beefheart bit at the end there. A little poppy, for my taste, but solid. Feels, too poppy.  Not pulling out any stops, but ok, there is certainly better Frank out there (see 'The Eric Dolphy Memorial Barbeque', or even 'Lets Make the Water Turn Black' to get a vibe for this man).

I never compare his stuff because its so varied. For example, its hard to compare Jazz From Hell with Freak Out! I just view it as everything he does is awesome in its own way
