What could be making my windows fog up when I turn on the defroster ???? Do you have any ideal? It fogs up when I first turn it on but clears off in a few minutes

Hey Scotty I got something. After you clean the window used the cheapest shaving cream you can buy. Shaving cream has a chemical in it that prevents windows from fogging. I have shaving cream in my bathroom mirrors. when I take a hot shower my mirrors do not fog up.

I just press the defrost button and bingo the fog is gone.

My husband keeps a small sock filled with cat litter in the car. When he’s not driving or the car is parked, he’ll toss the sock up on the dashboard and voila, no fog.

He keeps it in a little container so any loose litter falls into it, and not make a mess.

Here in Florida heat doesn't work. The AC will clear it almost instantly. When I lived in Ohio I used to get an anti fog treatment for my eye glasses. Can not remember the name of it. It would be vary hazy when you put on and let dry. After you rub it clear again it would never fog again. That is what I used on my windshield while there. Came to Florida and couldn't find it anymore. That was 40 years ago. That is why I don't remember the name.

What about here in the UK we have frosty iced windows. And the first thing you see when you sit inside is so much condensation that is almost dripping. How can I avoid this?

You know them silicon bead packs you get with everything from new shoes to beef jerky? Collect those and put them in a bag. I use a crown royal cloth bag and its about 1/4 full. I sew the thing shut and cut just under the crown logo. And velcro it to the back of my rear view mirror. My windows never fog up any more in my chevy cavalier. As for my larger VW passat TDI im having a more difficult time making it work like the cavalier, i can rest the bag on the dash while im not driving so i don't have to wait for the driver side to defog. Just an idea for ya guys. Im sure there's a better way to do my trick but y'all are creative humans, im sure you'll run with it.

something else that works great is shaving cream. sounds weird but has never failed, and you don't have to reapply it. obviously rub it into the glass, then clean it off. Don't just spray shaving cream all your windows...or better yet, please do. That would be funny to see.

It's because they have clutchless compressors. It's a way to let the compressor lube itself up. Also new cars automatically run AC when you set air direction to defroster vents

It's a trick taught to me by a window-cleaner, it leave the window much cleaner.

One of the best things to wash your windows with is old newspapers... not the slick sales paper ones but the actual newspaper parts.... also coffee filters work excellent... I actually learned of the newspaper trick on the back of an invisible glass aerosol can and was reading the coffee filter pack one day and it mentioned using it to clean glass... and having knew the newspaper trick I tried it... now I use coffee filters on my eye glasses and it works flawlessly.
