João Rupp On February 1, 2016, Powers announced on Twitter that his Youth Lagoon project was concluding. He planned to do a trilogy of albums and according to Wikipedia the last tour in the USA in 2016 would be the last for him. He “reached the top of a mountain“ just to see there are many others surrounding him.

So hipster music = effeminate vocals on hazy dreamy, and understated tracks without anything too heavy to weigh it down with over-emotional content.
