From somebody who listens to Metal and genres alike for the majority of each day. I always love taking a break and wind down listening to Young the Giant. This is one of the few bands I've found that I can always listen to and love every second while I do.

this is such a beautiful song. just wondering, what do you guys think it's about? I have a general idea, but when it gets to the actual "cameras" part I feel a bit off.

Camera to me means the way he's looking at things, specifically the way he sees his lover.
On holiday with a broken camera.
I think it means when he was with her he was on holiday, it was so wonderful. But his "camera" was broken so.he couldn't appreciate her. Now that she's gone he realizes but it's too late

+mloghv I think its about how he was in a relationship and they went on vacation but he realized that she didn't love him anymore. The camera symbolizes that he can't create any more memories with her because there's no love so the camera is broken.

+mloghv i think the song is about growing up and feeling as though/realizing how much is lost in youth.
"on holiday with a broken camera and all i say is i could be happier": as an adult holidays are for getting away from stress and being free from the daily routine but he's reflecting on being younger and realizes that he's still not happy. his "camera is broken" meaning that his perspective is off, he's dreaming of truly being carefree, the way he was when he was young.

This song is so dynamic... I mean, I can't even begin to describe..  compared to songs that have over 500+Billion,Trillion views, this songs is Gold! This is a song that is perfect for special occasions with friends and family, for instance a rooftop-party in the evening or a beach party with candle light etc !

It's a mystery how their first album was so utterly flawless and this one such a far, far kick away. This song is pretty okay, but most of the songs are just, you know, whatever.

That's how I felt about this album. I'm a huge fan of their first album, but this album is so different from the first one. In a sense that they're really taking their instrumentation to a higher level. I feel like they're drifting away from their catchy feel to a more mature sound and now I can't stop listening to this album.

I like both but this album is more instrumental and experimental where as their first sounded more raw and Californian to me idk lol

I understand. But the part where he yells "I could be happier" And that part on, is like, the dreamiest part ever.

This album is in the same shelf as the one from Keane " Hope and Fears ", and these song it's by far the best of the album, get yourself a good pair of headset and listen to this, you will have to admit it's a completely different level experience. JUST AWESOME

You are correct, nothing unique thought. Keane use to do the same ( always something different, like a man reading news, a robot speaking, a woman crying ) specially for song endings like in this one .

Interesting point nao, but nope, I'm more than certain he's talking about passionate sex. Which is fortified in the line "I thought we had fun, but in the morning light, your cars already gone." It's definitely about making her sexually wet.
