Young, Neil - War Of Man Lyrics
The little creatures
run in from the cold
Back to the nest
just like the days of old
There in the safety
The warmth of ages,
far away from harm again.
Ears ringin'
from the battle fire
The tired warrior
aims a little higher
The black falcon
or the little sparrow
The healing light
No one wins
It's a war of man,
No one wins
It's a war of man.
Silver mane flyin' in the wind
Down through the planets
on the run again
No one knows where
they're runnin' to
But every kind is comin'
two by two.
Out on the delta
where the hoofbeats pound
The daddy's runnin'
on the frozen ground
Can't smell the poison
as it follows him
Can't see the gas and machines,
it's a war of man.
No one wins
It's a war of man,
No one wins
It's a war of man.
The windows open
and the little girl dreams
The sky's her playground
as she mounts her steed
Across the heavens
to the other side
On wings of magic
does the little girl ride.
The baby creatures
run in from the cold
Back to the nest
just like the days of old
There in the safety
of a mother's arms
The warmth of ages,
far away from harm again.
No one wins
It's a war of man,
No one wins
It's a war of man,
No one wins.

I Love the album cover
I believe it's from a different album. When I had the CD, a different cover. I love this album. One of Neil's best.

Ronstadt, Larson, Taylor, and Astrid Young on harmony vocals.
I listened to this twenty years ago on my way to work at Clark manufacturing. Could not imagine how close we all are to this right now, from back then. He was way ahead of his time. This is how I feel at times now, run to the safety of a mothers arms, far away from the evil around me.
The unalloyed evil of Trumpism.
Good Lord Man...compared to the evils of the Deep Swamp, Globalism and literally murderous Clintonism? You need a breathing treatment pal....

So So real
Some of the most deeply disturbing lyrics and music come out of Young. He's as rare as Dylan - and you can love or hate either one, but their impact into people's souls and emotions is without peer. He STILL finds new little snippets in the first 3 frets of the instrument to fuel his songs. Simple but devastating.
One of his best out of many.
@Dave Egan - Nobody can play an acoustic guitar like Neil can.
