Young, Neil - One Thing Lyrics

When I try
to tell you one thing
You don't listen
When I try
to tell you one thing
You don't care.

I think we're
headed for a heartache
That's my suspicion
I think we're
headed for a heartache
That's how I feel.

And I don't want
The silent treatment
And I don't need
To feel the chill.

You know a body feels empty
With no love inside
Yeah, a body feels empty
With no love at all.

I think we're
headed for a heartache
That's my suspicion
I think we're
headed for a heartache
That's how I feel.

One of these days
You're gonna wake up
and I'll be gone
You'll open your eyes
And see the truth.

When I try
to tell you one thing
You don't listen
When I try
to tell you one thing baby
You don't care.

Martha. Couldn't agree more. My wife and I played this album when it came out. Decades later ,when I played it in my car, my teenage kids, who had never heard the album, all fell in love with it, especially One Thing and Coup de Ville. I bought my first Neil Young album in 1972 , saw Neil twice in the 70s at the Apollo, Glasgow, and am going to see Neil later this month with one of my sons, for the second time. It is gratifying to know that my 21 year old son is beginning to realise something I have known for 45 years: Neil Young can move you like no other artist, including Dylan, and is an incomparable companion on life's journey.Take care.

Easily the best song off the album in my opinion. It should be regarded as just a great blues song in its own right regardless of who the artist is.

I can't believe there are no posts for this fantastic song. I'm very proud to be the first. I love to hear Neil singing the blues.
