If I had to suggest something, I'd like to see a english cover of one of the Mr Osomatsu openings.

I honestly think you made your voice too quiet or the music too loud, either way, I think your voice shouldn‘t have felt like such a background noise compared to the music. Also, the sad part where the instruments mostly stopped, I really think you butchered that and should have sung it with a soft voice instead of forcing it to sound so harsh.
I liked the text and love most of what I heard of you but this actually kind of butchers the adventurous and sad tone of the original and tries too much to be „cool, harsh and edgy“ in tone.

This opening isn't sad at all to me, it's super uplifting considering the lyrics and theme of the show.

I didn't talk about the entire intro. If that is what you have to say, I assume you didn't really read my comment. I am talking about that one part where the lyrics are questioning what purpose you have and that you are still waiting for the answer to that question. The rest of the song is pretty much about discovering yourself and being who you want to be, which is why I described it as ADVENTUROUS and sad. Not just as sad.
And while I normally love Jonathans take on songs, this time he just made it seem edgy and forced. Especially the sad part. I mean, I know he could have done a soft sad part there, he has that vocal range as proven by his other songs, but he decided to do a rough smoker like voice with WAY to loud music, his voice was drowned out and was more like background noise for 85% of the video. And the sad part I was talking about, when the instruments become quiet and his voice is the main focus, he sang so quietly that it was still just background noise.
Don't know what happened here, but the japanese original is 10 leagues above this cover.
Just so people maybe don't randomly trash talk me. Let me repeat, I normally love Jonathans work, this is the first I disliked of him honestly. And that is because normally his songs are good takes on the original, keeping the same sense as the original in both lyrics and tone. He nailed the lyrics as always, loved them, but the tone of the song was changed and the song is just not the same emotional story of a boy discovering himself but rather sounds like a man in his midlife crisis trying to rediscover himself.
I know that this description is kind of vague, but I don't know which terms to use honestly. This came to mind and fits in my opinion becaue the youthful and freh tone is lost in this song and replaced by the extremely harsh adult voice Jonathan chose.
