Close to 30 years and Dwight is one of the best.been following from 87 to now.5 times the mother church the Ryman, back stage the opry.16 years between him being there. Ain't right but Dwight is not Nashville. Dwight is Dwight. One of the few and I mean few took his talent to LA and became one of the best singers, songwriters, and one hell of a class acted.so the love and respect to the one that came before him.if you get a chance to see go .it will be a great show. That was one serious country music jam, and it's a crying shame that Dwight Yoakam and lead guitarist Pete Anderson went their separate ways. Anderson made his Fender Telecaster jump up and sing. Still, I'm glad Dwight Yoakam is still singing. Check out his rendition of "Purple Rain". No other country music artist can pull that off.

Dwight grew up in Columbus, Ohio. His family is from eastern Kentucky. His song Route 23 talks about people from the Eastern KY hills packing up and moving north for jobs.

Not Texas, exclusively -- Dwight's from Kentucky.  He's nailed that cowboy look. . . .  The best!
