Yes - Soon Lyrics
Soon, oh soon the light
Pass within and soothe this endless night
And wait here for you
Our reason to be here
All we move to gain will reach and calm
Our heart is open
Our reason to be here
Long ago, set into rhyme
Soon, oh soon the light
Ours to shape for all time, ours the right
The sun will lead us
Our reason to be here
Soon, oh soon the light
Ours to shape for all time, ours the right
The sun will lead us
Our reason to be here

Steve's pedal steel makes me teary eyed
If this music doesn't feed your soul energy. Nothing will..God Bless you all!!!!
I always loved this song, never really knowing their meaning, but as a Christian, I always thought of Jesus, Who was called the Light of Life, and the Son of God...
On another note, I always loved the pedal steel guitar, but never heard it sound quite like this, it's mesmerizing...
An invisible masterpiece.
It was such privilege to be surrounded by music like this back in the 1970's at university. Only now can one realise how great this time and music was
How can anyone still doubt who is the voice of Yes?
Awesome...!!! Never get tired of hearing this...Best Yes Ever...!!!
Beautiful !!!!!.......But we SHOULD have IMPOSED TO LIVE THAT ......FOR REAL.....IN THOSE TIMES !!!.........
ETERNAL, TIMELESS AND ALWAYS DEEPLY MOVING,...YES, THEY ARE,...KNOW THE MEANINGS OF THE LYRICS AND ABSOLUTELY, CLEARLY, UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE AND IT'S INTENDED PURPOSE, OTHERWISE YOUR EXPERIENCE IS INCOMPLETE.
My favorite and greatest even though the simplest Yes song...!?!

the first time I heard this song was 2 years ago, sitting in college reading Fernando Pessoa, it was september, the beginning of the fall, now I'm at work and I listening to it.. and this wave of nostalgia hit me hard..

I LOVE this. Can’t say anymore.
My first concert at age 16, this song just sticks out in my mind. Philly, JFK stadium

Last time I saw them with Chris...it was Jones Beach New York. They did the theatrical smoke and when it started to clear there was a perfectly clear full moon shining down on the stage above all of them. It was breathtaking and perfect. Just a great memory I had to share. Was bright like the sun.

Ho Yes ,Ho Jon !
Yearning...
Our reason to be here.
I need some time to think it over...time will heal my fears...as I balance the thoughts that release within me.what touches our souls slowly moves as touch rebounds..and to know that tempo will continue, lost in trance of (dances, or dancers) as rhythm takes another turn.. this is from Sound Chaser, which kicks off side two of Relayer. Didn't understand it for years, now I think I do.it's hard to put into words.
I've waited over 44 years...soon is a relative term, an indefinite length of time..I think it is happening...now. Amazing relief, after the chaos of the holy war....which might be all only in our minds...Oswego, I'm listening to it now. Choked with emotion.. love is all and love you all. Wish it didn't have to be this way...it'll be fine..this is the great hope we must bear in our hearts, and try to live our lives by... Oh. Enough!!! Let me go...I have more to say, and I will say it someday. Soon.
Relayer was such a great album
What do you mean 'was'? It IS a great album.
Gates of Delirium a bit hard to process...with its 'stand and fight we do consider, reminded of an inner pact between us' and 'destroy oppression, a point to reaction, as leaders look to you ..attacking, but it doesn't have to be a violent cinlict... I remember in great depth and detail where I was in life when I first heard this. I was very,, fragile,,,,I had a harrowingly bad but very memorable LSD misadventures, I'd just turned 18. End of 1874. Dorm room at Indiana university. And...Andy has just listened to it...we wer all of us, major Yes Heads. Back then...telling us all .." you've just gotta listen to this... I never got to Soon that night. I freaked out...Now it's one of my all-time favorite albums... Time has healed my fears... To be over. Listen...should we fight forever, knowing as we do know, fear destroys+?? Please. I want to stop now. Send my message!!! I am much better now, than I was then. Long ago, set into rhyme.. words, almost know them by heart. I my brothers, and sisters.. soon.
I need better self- editing. I had just turned 19, and it was the end of 1974. Or very early in 1975.
And it should read ' O my brothers....', not 'I my brothers...' As if it mattered. As if anybody truly cares.
I've worn out two vinyl copies of it, and two cds. Need a new one...so, yes, in a sense, it was (used to be) a playable piece of vinyl, or CD. Hah!!
Words fail me 😢
Shiver.
Steve with his solo fully feedbacks on Johns vocal painting. The return back home. Steves solo introspected, humble yet unique and brilliant all around. Blessed.
I cry every time I hear this song.
It does draw out emotion. It’s a powerful song.
Dude....I remember coming back from college at night, listening to this song while smoking a J. Good times!
My Favorite YES song...!!!
Beautiful
True story for this generation.
My Favorite YES song !!! Even though it's the least of all the YES songs...!!! To me alot of their stuff is very SPIRITUAL...!?! YES...!!!
I'm 59 today grew up with yes in my life amazing
Jon & Steve created the sound and direction of Yes all the years ago. It was those two together, not apart.
I'm not a Yes fan at all, I kinda hate their sound, but this part is absolutely gorgeous.
To syffol. They are an acquired taste. And maybe not for everyone. The band has seen many many personnel changes, lineups, configurations through the decades. I personally do 'prefer' the classic, early period stuff, net we than the a lot of the harder edged songs from later years... And also, sometimes in those later years, I wish Jon Anderson could just shut up, and let the music speak for itself. Don't get me wrong (DGMW )...I love you Jon, I really do. And there's lots to like about 90125, Big Generator, Union, Tormato, others. Less familiar with Talk, Magnification, Reunion.but I have them in my collection. Maybe time for me to do that...soon. ??? Hah!!
Que faire sinon aimer une telle Musique?
''Now there are artists who can wrest us up, & place us into themselves.
These, These are the 'One's' Who' will continue to wrest us up...
Even beyond their rests in peace!'' -gilpin 12618
So inspiring.. I have been waiting years for this song
Im having the same feeling when i listen "Matte Kudasai", that effect of guitar ufffff
For six minutes, no room for hate in any part of my soul.
We are from the sun
Saw them 6 times live... And, like a brilliant coffee-card, the 6th was free! (A free outdoor concert in Montreal with Alan Parsons as the opening act!!!)

Hello
sister
That longing. The way we were ...
Lyrics from Tales: What happened, to this song, we used to know so well, signed promise, for moments caught within then spell. We must have waited all our lives, grit this moment, moment moment... In other words: not the way we were, but rather, the way we ARE. Still longing, for these dreams to come true. Still waiting.
No idea why the word 'grit' slipped through unedited and obviously wrong. The word should be :'for'. Oops!!! In case you're new to 'all things YES'
After yes album, they become self indulgent
Anointed song ! Heavenly heavy... Touching deep in the Heart and Soul...! ♥️
TOTALLY SUBLIME MUSIC...70'S PROG ROCK AT ITS ABSOLUTE BEST...A TIMELESS AND DEEPLY MOVING MASTERWORK:)
Hauntingly beautiful!
Sólo por escuchar ésta música ya merece la pena haber nacido. Just for listening to this music it's worth to have born.
Thank you YES for create this wonderful song.
my favorite Yes song ! even though it's the simplest...
Darryl Cole my favourite Yes song also. This song got me interested in reading War And Peace. Which is now my favourite book because of that song.
tbh is not even that simple, although i agree is mindblowing :)
I always sing this song and begin to cry. <3
Excelentes recuerdos, tengo este y otros acetatos de este grupo quienes me inspiraron a escribir y pintar con sus canciones.
I had no idea that The Gates of Delirium wa based on War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. Interesting.
Jamfjr it got me into reading the book.
I have this LP in Vinyl!!!! :)
bought it when it came out played it on a turntable to those who were enlightened
