This came out when I was 15 and I loved this song. I haven't heard it in over 30 years. Rediscovered it a few weeks ago and I listen to it just about every day. Great memories.

I LOVE early Yes (The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge), but they got a little lost with Tales and Relayer. So great to have them come back to well-structured rock songs on Going for the One and Tormato.

Years after my brother moved out of our parents home, I found a few unmarked cassettes he had left behind; mix tapes.  And although I can't remember any other song from those tapes, I remembered this song well enough to look it up by the lyrics just now. The energy of it was just so different from anything else I'd ever heard and I've carried it with me to this day... not the cassette but the vibe.

I am ready to be carried home. Now.

Squire said that Jon would play acoustic guitar and Steve and Rick would play around it, then they'd remove Jon's guitar leaving "gaps" in the music. Squire meant it as a criticism but I love that expansive kind of busy sound.

best yes album ever... people never understood because they were waiting for another fragile album... yes were just to far advanced for the market but thats human nature strive to get better at that time 1978

The album when Yes and I parted company. Listening to this song again, perhaps 37 - 38 years since I last heard it, I feel exactly the same way. I think it's the processed bass tone and Wakeman's over use of the Polymoog and Birotron synths which, to my ears grated then and still do, all these years later.

I have to wrestle with my sentimentality.

Yes, some of Tormato Was magical.

A vastly underrated album, any Yes album is a gem in its own way. After "Going For the One", this was their brilliant afterglow. As they themselves have said in interviews, they had to go on to other projects. It was time.

Tormato has some really brilliant songs. This my favorite from this album. There is a live version of Madrigal on the video version of Keys to ascension that is one of the most perfectly played pieces of music ever.

Tormato is great...I  think it is maligned because  all previous YES work is masterful. I will take Tormato over any album they did after TALK..

Ecstatic track!! The band was firing on all cylinders with this one. The lyrics are pure poetry. Comes off with a sci-fi/fantasy theme. This track became my all time favorite of Yes.

by the early 80s I had over 1000 albums in my collection, and 'On the Silent Wings of Freedom ' was one of my top 5 favorite songs. Truly amazing musicians.
