Yes - It's Over Lyrics
Baby you'll need a replacement
Baby I'm moving on
I've been in one place far too long
Its time that I was gone
I know I said when we started
We were on a road to nowhere
Speed of sound
Our wait blows over
Punks fade away
As you sit by your window
Holding tears at bay
Its over
Will you still feel me though I'm not there
Where will you go when the lights are low
Its over
What will you do when the nights are long
Its over
Its over for you and me
I've come to tell you
Something I need to say
Its been coming for sometime
Never happened today
All those times I loved you
I really loved you
We need a new face
A brand new day
Its over
Where will you go when the lights are low
Its over
Will you still feel me though I'm not there
Now I'll be movin'
I won't leave you a key
I'm so near as our memory
And that's all we need
Our wait blows over
Punks fade away
As you sit by your window
Holding tears at bay
Its over
Will you still feel me though I'm not there
Its over
Where will you go when the lights are low
Its over
What will you do when the nights are long
Its over
Its over for you and me

Yes It's Over Comments
Interesting song, but doesn't at all feel like a Yes song.
That doesn't sound like White and Squire at all
Sounds a bit like St. Elmo's Fire in parts...
Terrific song! Somehow it kind of feels to me like it's in a polished "Cinema" state at this point though. Particularly lyrically.
Wow! This is great. He never ceases to amaze with his music. I really enjoy this album. " Changes" is my favorite songs of Trevor's.
Sounds more like Iron Maiden than Yes.
I fully agree! Pure Iron Maiden!
That is not Chris Squire and Alan White playing on this. It has potential but like most Trevor Rabin stuff the lyrics suck
While I enjoyed it on first listening - it's NOT Yes!! More like a Cinema track or Rabin solo! Rabin-rock!! And I couldn't hear Jon!!
Eddie Jobson on keyboards?
Tony Kaye
are you sure? because at the beginnings of the re-group in 1982 they called Eddie Jobson after Tony Keye left for a brief period. In the Owner of a lonely heart video (the moment they are on the sky craper) it is still possible to see Eddie Jobson for a second (from behind, fairy hair) ... if by one side, on here, the simple chords seems a thing of Keye, the "electronic riff" you can hear for example at 4:18 ... is quite typical of Eddie
This was recorded before Eddie Jobson briefly joined. I forgot to mention that Trevor Rabin is also playing keyboards as well. I know for a fact that Eddie rehearsed with Yes for one month in 1983 for the upcoming tour before they persuaded Tony to return. Eddie was in the video for "Owner" but they cut out most of the shots that showed him. He never recorded with Yes, he came in after the album was recorded with Rabin and Kaye playing keyboards (respectively).
Yea I think it is probably Rabin on keys. If you look at the credits on Talk, it only credits Kaye as doing the organ parts. Since Trevor has a hand in all that he does, I'm guessing he probably did a majority of the keyboards on 90125.
I also think there is an interview on video with Eddie that he did not enjoy the company of Squire and Jon (I believe) but didn't meet Rabin. I'll have to find that interview.
Love the base melodies but the lyrics are total cheeseball and unworthy of Yes. Less an unreleased Yes track than a Cinema demo that never went further.
Help me to complete the lyrics, please.
Baby you'll need a replacement
Maybe i'm moving on
Ive been in one place far too long
Its time that I was gone
I know what we said
time for me to
were on a road to nowhere
at the speed of sound
Its over for you and me
Ive come to tell you
Something I need to say
Its been coming for sometime
Never happened today
All those times I loved you
I really loved you
We need a new face
Its over
With your translation, and listening to the song once again I came up with this as best as I could transcribe. Since it seems no one online has put them up, and is NOT available on the Official YES site.
The only part/"word" thats super hard to hear (and doesn't make sense) "Punks' fade away":
Baby you'll need a replacement
Baby i'm moving on
I've been in one place far too long
Its time that I was gone
I know I said when we started
Time would ease along
We were on a road to nowhere
Speed of sound
Our wait blows over
Punks fade away(?)
As you sit by your window
Holding tears at bay
Its over
Will you still feel me though I'm not there
Its over
Where will you go when the lights are low
Its over
What will you do when the nights are long
Its over
Its over for you and me
I've come to tell you
Something I need to say
Its been coming for sometime
Never happened today
All those times I loved you
I really loved you
We need a new face
A brand new day
Its over
Where will you go when the lights are low
Its over
Will you still feel me though I'm not there
Now I'll be movin'
I won't leave you a key
I'm so near as our memory
And that's all we need
Our wait blows over
Punks fade away
As you sit by your window
Holding tears at bay
Its over
Will you still feel me though I'm not there
Its over
Where will you go when the lights are low
Its over
What will you do when the nights are long
Its over
Its over for you and me.
- Please anyone, correct the "Punk" part if that is not correct.
Fantastic track! thanks for uploading, the song got a Styx feeling to it. I am a huge Rabin fan:)
I truly like a great bunch of stuff of Rabin's output, but this sounds so generic and the gutar bridge is so similar to John Parr's Man In Motion that its akward.
scdeville maybe Parr stole that bridge from this song considering this was three years before Man in motion.
cool...another dimension of YES
Great Cinema track!
Awful! There's 5 minutes of my life I won't get back. Rabin does not = Yes.
I Love the Led Zeppelin influence. Great track
Bit of Anderson on there and this would be a spot on Yes track, I think. I already like it as it is, but it's not quite there. Still a cool little track. Loving the Queen influence.
I love this song. Can't even fathom why/who kept it off of 90125. Make It Easy should have been on it too.
@xavier martori vilardebó same
That track did absolutely nothing for me.
Should of been on the album great song.......
Another demo from the CInema sessions. It took Jon Anderson coming back to turn stuff like this into Yes music. Trevor Rabin is a very talented musician, but this stuff is ratther generic 80's rock, with the exception of the Queen-like vocal harmonies on the chorus. I put this in my "Yes studio" playlist. Thanks for the upload!
If someone comes there after me, d'you know a place where we can find the full lyrics of this song ?
I tried adding the lyrics to musixmatch and genius (Feb 2018), but I have questions about 1 line in the song:
Baby you'll need a replacement
Baby i'm moving on
I've been in one place far too long
Its time that I was gone
I know I said when we started
Time would ease along
We were on a road to nowhere

Shut up and take my money! I'd buy that album.
One day ;)
Good song, demo quality production.
yep lol i mean yes saw them live in 84 luv this band
It should have been another (great) band, Cinema not Yes. The stuff is not Yes, it's like Foreigner and Leppard's Pyromaina. It's a pity it's just two bonus tracks...
they did good by not including it originally
Utter Rubbish!
It's true, this isn't Yes, it's Cinema, the working name of the band before they invited Jon Anderson back. Two Cinema tunes, "It Can Happen" (which was redone for 90125) and "Make It Easy" appeared on the Yes boxed set from back in 1991.
Very cool song. I totally agree with the top comments here.
One day..... One day Rabin will get the recognition he deserves.
Sure glad this song wasn't on the original 90215 album.
It just doesn't flow with the rest of the album IMO.
@ifixmixers ...AND Fly From Here, don't forget that one, although with moving, I've yet to hear the whole thing.
@neechee5150
I must be more behind in my fan subscription readings than I thought, I was.. thanks for correcting me!
@ifixmixers Wrong-Anderson does not sing on Fly From Here as well. Beniot is the lead singer for Yes at the present time. The only consistent person in the Yes line up from the very start to the present is Chris Squire.
While I will agree on a few things, What is Yes is Chris Squire owned, period. Just because someone else sings, Rabin, Anderson, Horn, whoever, it is still Yes Owned. How you make into Yes is another story :) I'm the 70-80's yes guy myself, but all to their own...
There is something of great in this song but not perfectely developed. Thanks for sharing!
@pianomanal2000 it's Trevor Rabin, their guitarist on 90125.
first thing i notice is different singer
esta era la maqueta del tema casi terminado..falto Jon nada mas..
sounds like Trevor jammin with Queen.
And also with the pop trio Genesis sometimes.
@SgtZaqq YES is not Jon Anderson only, but Jon Anderson interprets songs like no other
@ifixmixers Chris Squier is on ALL albums. So in fact Yes is not Yes without him. But even if there would be at least one Yes member, it would be Yes.
@Marco33185
Jon Anderson is on every YES album but Drama, dude..
@Marco33185 YES in not Jon Anderson only.
@arweiss100 i also like Cinema version of "It Can Happen" and "Make It Easy" (another bonus track) from 90125
Thanks for sharing this! This should have been released on the original version of "90125". What a gem. Trevor's gorgeous vocals & soaring guitar, and his amazing songcraft & musicianship just make this song. I also think the "purist" Yes fans might be very interested in the authentic prog. structures, rhythms and chords & immense keys arrangement of this song..they would just love this.
