Yes - In The Tower Lyrics
Like a stair reach up
As moonlight, as of fire
In the middle of desire
By the master light that sees us in the wind
We carry on, on and on
Like coldness in the wind
That would change life's true desire
Seeing winter, summer, autumn, spring again
In the quiet of morning mist I dream of you
In the tallest tower I think I always will
Tall death that haunted me so
Can't find no well design
Can't help it on your own
Surely time will come
When the talents of a lifetime spent with you
Surely makes the best of chance
Like the wind can tell us
For what is true is life
Days gone by
Days gone by
Days gone by
We meet by the tower of true love
We sit beside us in the rain
Smiling with the raindrops clear
Like the sun can tell us
For what is true is life
For what is true is life
For what is true is life

Yes In The Tower Comments
This song was not a part of the Drama sessions. It was recorded in 1979 during the infamous "Paris sessions". It was produced by Roy Thomas Baker. At this time, the band were not getting on well and soon after, Wakeman and Jon left the band. It was put on the Drama album as demos since it was the next Yes album to be officially recorded
Jon should finish this song
I Agree
Good snippet! It probably was left off of Drama because it sounds like Jon Anderson is the lead vocalist, and he was not with YES on this album.
@Scott Harbison It is Anderson.
+Scott Harbison it was probably left off because it seems like Wakeman and Anderson could have been the principal writers behind the song. plus, I guess, Drama was to sound more new wave'y
How could such a lovely song go unreleased ? Personally I'm happier that it was left as a fragment and not made into one of their epics.
It's an extra track on the "Drama" CD.
Why the DRAMA cover????
+Ronaldo Lopes Teixeira it's on the Drama deluxe album
because when Dram was released a few years ago, some songs that were done right after Tormato, were included in the re-release. It IS Wakeman and Anderson on this.
This is just amazing !
This is one of those Yes unreleased songs that touches my heart.... deeply. :'(
Yes.... If could only....
This could have turned into another great epic like Awaken. Ah, if only.
