Yes - Heart Of The Sunrise Lyrics

Love comes to you and you follow
Lose one on to the Heart of the Sunrise
SHARP-DISTANCE
How can the wind with its arms all around me

Lost on a wave and then after
Dream on on to the Heart of the Sunrise
SHARP-DISTANCE
How can the wind with so many around me
lost in the city

Lost in their eyes as you hurry by
Counting the broken ties they decide
Love comes to you and then after
Dream on on to the Heart of the Sunrise
SHARP-DISTANCE
How can the wind with its arms all around me
SHARP-DISTANCE
How can the wind with so many around me
I feel lost in the city

Lost in their eyes as you hurry by
Counting the broken ties they decided

Straight light moving and removing
SHARPNESS of the colour sun shine
Straight light searching all the meanings of the song
Long last treatment of the telling that
relates to all the words sung
Dreamer easy in the chair that really fits you

Love comes to you and then after
Dream on on to the Heart of the Sunrise
SHARP-DISTANCE
How can the wind with its arms all around me
SHARP-DISTANCE
How can the wind with so many around me
I feel lost in the city

Years ago I worked for Fedex in LA. I was done with my route a little early so dispatch had me make a stop on the way back to the building. It was in a warehouse in North Hollywood. I walked in the door and there was a band practicing. I didn't pay attention to them at first but the package wasn't ready and the guy I talked to asked if I could wait 5 minutes. Since there was a band there I was happy to wait. I sat on a couch about 10 yards in front of the band and started to pay attention to then. It was Yes practicing this song. One of my best days on the job.

  39. S.... T....

Pretty funny that songs from Stone Free stand names were flooded by JoJo fans, but on JoJoLion, song was used in conversation as a recommendation and YouTube video of it has only like 5-10 comments. This shows that not much people can be so consistent with reading long manga.

    S.... T....

Well to be fair, lots of people wanna wait for Part 8 to end so that they can binge it all in one sitting.

There are actually at least 150 tone deaf people who have been on youtube and pressed don't like to this song!

  49. b.... ....

it’s hard to believe this came out in 1971. this song is absolutely fucking timeless, no better way to describe it.

  50. R.... C....

  56. S.... ....

Shut up google, I’m trying to listen to one of the greatest songs of all time!

  57. D.... E....

I wish this question of mine gets upvoted because I really want to know, the reason being this song changed the world to me, suddenly everything was possible. This is not a hyperbole, on the contrary, I don't want to sound like crazy, and don't want to influence any eventual response)

*1* What were you doing and where were you when you first listened to this song
*2* What was your immediate reaction to it (don't limit yourself in your response, just tell us the truth. I, for instance, had a sort of psychotic episode where I couldn't believe the music existed (the intro, to be specific and kept hitting the button to restart the song).
*3* Did this song leave any sort of long-lasting effect on your life, did it change you?

    D.... E....

I was in my room and thought holy damn this is great!
It's like when I heard Forget Not for the first time.

  58. F.... Q....

    OVERDRIVE!!!!!!

  59. J.... B....

What would meek do. Kanye’s a legend for sampling this.

    J.... B....

  61. J.... D....

A piece of magical history that was and will never be again rest in peace Chris

  62. e.... ....

    LISTEN TO THE DRUMS!!!

  63. E.... ....

    Daiya has great taste.

  64. S.... 3....

why did this take me so long to find Daiya literally said the name of it as well as a bunch of other stuff and I got a small brain moment.

  65. G.... ....

For this song I Have a strong pink floyd feeling, love this guys. Just knew Roundabout from the TO BE CONTINUE meme, then in the anime JoJo and finally I decide to search their other songs. This album is so GOLD

    G.... ....

    Ormus monotomic gold

  66. A.... P....

Chris Squire is in same stratosphere as Pete Entwistle and John Paul Jones . . . Magnificent

    A.... P....

Pete Townsend - John Entwistle. You're welcome.

  67. H.... ....

I don’t even like Yes that much and this is great

  68. o.... t....

    these guys are spotless musicians

  69. M.... G....

    Meraviglioso brano!!!

  70. A.... ....

A mellotron that falls from the sky like a mist------ Fragile-------- heart of the sunrise------its around 1 minute 37 secondd in.

  71. v.... ....

Crikey! This is a meal in itself!?

  72. k.... ....

Bill Bruford plays the drums like a lead instrument in this song. It all comes together perfectly but those drums are spectacular.

    k.... ....

And Bruford's interplay with Squire drove Squire to create his best bass lines. All Squire's best work occurs when Bruford was in the band.

    k.... ....

You should listen to some of the isolated bass and drums Yes songs on YouTube

    k.... ....

Yes wasn’t the same after Bill departed. He is “one of a kind.”

    k.... ....

He was a better drummer than White, but he wasn't involved with Relayer, and that's an amazing album, CTTE is the only album better than Relayer.

  73. P.... B....

The part around 7:30 sounds a lot like 21st century schizoid man, doesn't it?

    P.... B....

Pranav Bhatt yeah it does.love me some April wine

    P.... B....

In fact some parts are influenced by 21st Century Schizoid Man. But at the same time this song is more classical in feeling

  74. E.... W....

    Buffalo 66!!!!!!

  75. s.... A....

    thank you, daiya

  76. M.... ....

    Genius.

  77. T.... Q....

Some please tell me what is that background instrument at 10:07 that makes that beautiful sound

    T.... Q....

    Modular Moog probably!

  78. o.... 2....

Almost sounds liek nigga mc higga music

  79. M.... ....

Well I guess if Jon Anderson had never existed on a different plane, I would have never met him and the group. Glad to have met you all! A fractal and a tesseract.

  80. F.... ....

Yeah Goon, I think you're a little stupid sometimes.

  81. J.... B....

Yes always had a knack for making beautiful music that also kicks ass.

  82. J.... M....

Not sure whether Jon Anderson is (was) a mystic, a mad poet or a genius. More than a bit of all three I suppose (as well as a great singer and musician). The beautiful poetic title of the song alone is worthy of Shakespeare or Wordsworth (on a good day). The 'heart of the sun' (Pink Floyd's 'Set Controls for the heart of the sun' is not great poetry. 'The heart of the sunrise' is.

  83. D.... ....

Best instrumental song build up ever

  84. B.... ....

    Beautiful.........

  85. T.... ....

Who else first heard this song in the movie Buffalo 66?

  86. P.... P....

    Best ever line-up

  87. V.... V....

One of the best drum performances on record...perfectly controlled, not a note wasted.

  88. .... ....

This fragile will be never broken. Long live the masterpiece of Yes.

  89. P.... M....

Roundabout is such an overrated music. Fragile has so many more awesome musics.

  90. A.... L....

    Jojolion parte 8!

  91. N.... F....

    Buffalo 66

  92. B.... ....

my favorite song from this album

  93. l.... s....

the red-hot chili peppers' bass player flea ripped-off this bass line in one of that silly band's songs.. oh well, it's hard to be completely unique all the time.. if one was, he and/or she would be misunderstandable much of the time, and would be seen as a misanthrope, deficient, a lunatic, or a pioneer-genius.. like if one were to invent one's own language, with it's own set of reality rules.. who would bother to experience it and/or become captivated by it, and spread the word?

  94. l.... s....

it's alright.. kinda redundant.. and it is staccatto and metric without "groove-aspect.." it lacks heart.. it kinda kills one's youthful spirit.. i kinda like it, yet I much rather prefer, like "Close to the Edge" alblum in the Arizona desert on mushrooms or acid, with indica bud from the emerald triangle, as a freshman at ASU in 1985, but that's just me.. All Hail the Ubiquitous American Night.. We'll all touch the night, the magic in the star-streams.. the mystery of the colors, that bloom beneath yourself.. be good and be well.. (i fly off.....)

  95. b.... V....

Try to explain to a man with a chain on his wallet that John Bonham was not the best drummer. Yes, Always had the best Drummers.

    b.... V....

bob V my 2 favs Bill Bruford and Billy Cobham

    b.... V....

that would also mean King Crimson had one of the best drummers

    b.... V....

bob V Neil Peart will always be king for me

  96. C.... U....

It's hard to remember but I think this was the Yes song that got me hooked on them. I distinctly remember requesting the song again while listening to the Classic Yes CD in my dad's Mini. Great song, great band. One of the best of all time, IMO.

  97. G.... H....

Wicked, amazing, and incredible bass. Special commendation to the drums, as well.
