Yellowcard - Life Of Leaving Home Lyrics

I can see all the footsteps left behind
Every second I gave
Every song was a snapshot of my life
I needed something to say

Started out in the last slow motion scene
Watching everyone change
Made a map of a one-way road from here
Had no reason to stay

I am awake and alive
There is something calling me
More than a moment in time
It's a dream I'm following
On my own
More than a moment in time
It's a life of leaving home

Think of me when the stars come out tonight
Take a look at the sky
Never said that I could burn out that bright
But I needed to try

I am awake and alive
There is something calling me
More than a moment in time
It's a dream I'm following
On my own
More than a moment in time
It's a life of leaving home

The day that I found my voice
I knew that I had no choice
The only way I'd ever learn to love
Is if I found it
On my own

I am awake and alive
There is something calling me
More than a moment in time
It's a dream I'm following
On my own
More than a moment in time
It's a life of leaving home

More than a moment in time
It's a life of leaving home

Hi everyone, I'm very new or Fresh to youtube, but I'm wondering how to connect better here. I've been interested in reaching out to other people and the band Yellowcard because I'm not really sure but I know I'm not the only one who can relate to their amazing songs. Right?? Well, is anyone at all could help me out? Thanks, DGJ

  13. M.... ....

When I grew up, my parents had split custody, or to be more technical no custody, seeing as they never battled it out in court. You see when they were together, they felt they were at their worst, that they brought out the worst sides of each other. When they split up, it was for my benefit. Neither of them wanted me to be around that sort of atmosphere. I love them both very much, and they're actually pretty good friends to this day, but they never lived together.

This basically meant when I was growing up I was constantly moving between the two, usually spending more time with my Mum where I went to school. They wanted me to see more than just the UK, so they took me travelling as much as they could, often sacrificing so I could see some of the world before I was older and more cynical. What I'm trying to say is I learned pretty early on home is never really a constant, and I truly have lived a life of leaving home XD

  14. t.... t....

Every person travelling abroad for university, far away from home needs to listen to this song

  17. R.... L....

Well then I doubt you being a so called software developer. And on that note, a app developer is not a programmer. You cannot make sounds on a computer without ANY source file. What part of that do you not understand. If there are no audio files on a PC, then a PC cannot create any form of sound. Its not possible and you are too daft to understand that. And I am not lying, I am telling you how a PC works. It cannot do anything without it being programmed. Learn something child.

  18. R.... L....

Ok, im going to say this one last time. YOU CANNOT CREATE SOUND FROM A COMPUTER WITHOUT SOURCE FILES!!!! Now that has been said. You can skew, stretch, modify, change, and alter files that have been already loaded with the original sound files. But if no sound files have been loaded onto a PC, you cannot make music no matter how hard you try. If I was to strip every FLAC, MP3, WMA, ALAC, and others, you would not be able to make any kind of sound or music on it. Just cant be done.

  19. Q.... ....

Being a software developer myself, specifically experienced in audio, I know you are very VERY wrong about not being able to create new sounds with a computer. However, since you have degenerated into lying to try to push your highly misinformed point, this discussion is over.

  20. R.... L....

Clearly you are wrong about what a computer can do and how it operates. I have 3 years in programming and 12 years of computer knowledge. And no, the strings are not just what makes the noise. That right there just shows your very big lack of understanding of instruments. The strings vibrate into the hollow chamber is how those instruments work. Computers cannot make noise out of nothing. The sounds must be pre-made and then loaded into a PC. It is a tool to change sound, not make it.

  21. Q.... ....

Clearly you are wrong about what a computer is... also, the strings are what make the sound, not the instrument. Of course, if you get to claim the strings are part of the instrument, then I claim that speakers are part of a computer. Again, your having an (EXTREMELY) limited view of what an instrument is, does not make it true. My view is backed up by the very definition of the word.

  22. R.... L....

You are still wrong in the concept of a instrument. The only thing the computer is playing is an uploaded sound byte from instruments. Computers can only synthesize that it already know. Instruments do not need anything uploaded to them. They are tier one of noise making. And then with your explanation. The speakers are what makes the noise, not the computer. Thus makes the speaker the instrument, not the computer.

  23. Q.... ....

Computers have speakers that use vibration to generate sound exactly the same way a violin uses vibration of strings to create sound. Also, what exactly do you think you are doing when you play a violin? You are inputting instructions on how the strings should vibrate. On a computer, you are inputting instructions on how the speakers should vibrate. If anything, the computer has a MUCH wider range of sounds it can produce than any instrument, given that it can imitate them all then make new ones

  24. R.... L....

Actually it is not. A musical instrument can create sound. A computer cannot. All it can do is manipulate sound programmed into it. It physically cannot create music unless you call a bunch of fans in a data center music which at that point, the fans are making the sound, not the computer. A computer is a tool, not a instrument. A violin creates sound by vibration and it actually makes a sound out of nothing. You are dealing with pre-created sound a computer. You are wrong.

  25. Q.... ....

A computer IS an instrument. A musical instrument is defined as: any of various devices or contrivances that can be used to produce musical tones or sounds. A computer is a device that can be used to produce musical tones or sounds. Now stop trying to put down other types of music just because YOU don't like it.

  26. K.... ....

Instrumental sounds are not made by computers and machinery. Now, when I say instruments, I mean musical, and not technical.

  27. T.... R....

When i hear this song, i open every windows on my Jeep even the roof and i crank up the volume :)

  28. J.... Q....

You know, I am a big yellowcard fan but I also enjoy electronic music (as well as most other music) and there is much more to dubstep than that. Even skrillex (who does not make dubstep, but electro) has some meaning and emotion in his songs. Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it doesn't make sense. Just accept other's opinions, won't you?

  29. E.... ....

There's really no point thinking about it if you can't already perceive what an artist's music is trying to tell you.

  30. F.... ....

Haha yeah I wanna post more covers I just have some problems with my camera lol But yeah some Yellowcard, Fall out Boy, All Time Low, let's not forget Blink 182 and we're good to go ;)

  31. L.... ....

Whens the wedding? (; xD Requirements are cake and good music; which if youre listening to this and after looking at your channel, you clearly have a good taste in music haha (:

  32. L.... ....

yes, i know. emotion can be produced by a simple touch, sound, glance, word, or even a taste or smell. Im just saying, I know other people can like it, but I dont understand what emotion there is in there. What was the artist thinking emotionally when writing such a song? That is the true emotion behind a piece of music.

  33. F.... ....

    Marry me.

  34. k.... l....

one of the best songs ive ever heard

  35. L.... ....

    Inspiring song :)

  36. E.... ....

    Your reading comprehension is pitiful.

I was stating a point, addressing the ignorant claim made by that girl.

It had nothing to do with Yellowcard or how good said band performs or sounds. It had to with the fact that different people interpret emotion through different sounds. Some rap, some rock, some classical, some jazz, some soul etc. etc.

But it's ludicrous to claim that one genre expresses emotion more than another. Not everyone sees these things the same.

  37. H.... W....

It's just that Yellowcard does it ten times better than anyone.
    Nerd.

  38. E.... ....

    Such ignorance is unfathomable.

Emotion can be expressed though any form of sound.

  39. k.... ....

yea it sounds like that i agree with you, but THEY like it, they probably talks ablout us, how can we listen to this music, but this for us is REAL music. everybody have there on taste of things.

  40. F.... ....

yes...yes there is. all music can be interpreted in so many ways. your just looking at it the close minded way. but so do most people so I understand your train of thought

  41. L.... ....

because theres so much emotion in "BUMBUMBUMBUMBUM WOOP WOOP BOOM WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB CLICK CLICK WUB"

  42. T.... R....

One Direction = most overrated band
    Yellowcard = most underrated band

  47. I.... c....

  48. E.... ....

they are gorgeous! why is this band so underrated?!?! THEY ARE SO RAD!

  49. m.... p....

its so sad to have this amazing music on one hand that doesnt get played on the radio and has no recognition it deserves. but on the other hand you got bieber ranting about being a boyfriend and the damn record goes multi platinum. wtf?? its a sick sick world we live in right now :( at least we have yellowcard!!

  50. J.... ....

  55. F.... ....

NO WAY! so do I what kind do you have?

  56. c.... ....

Do you like gum? I have a lot of it.

  57. F.... ....

WOOOO what do I win? :P

  58. c.... ....

Right on, you've figured out that people have opinions.

  59. F.... ....

and that is 100% your OPINION.

  60. c.... ....

I know who Sonny Moore is, but just because he has worked with instruments and had a good voice doesn't justify that what he's doing now is real music. It's not about comparing to completely different genres. My point was that as much as I hate some styles of music, it is still music no matter how bad it is, and that I'm not trying to "hate" on dubstep, because I'm not. But I don't care how technical you get with all of it, speaking as a musician, in the big picture, it's just not "real music"

  61. F.... ....

what your doing is comparing which you shouldnt. to completely different music genre's. and I can say that for skrillex because skrillex has worked with real instruments and had an amazing voice look up mora sonny moore. and country is bad haha. but its harmonious and that is "real" music.

  62. c.... ....

I didn't say they don't spend time on what they do. But are you honestly trying to say that spending a bit of time putting sample sounds together is equal to the years of practice and dedication put in to become talented at an instrument. I have a very open mind, I listen to all kinds of music from rap/hip-hop to punk to pop to metal and more. I even hate country music and can still admit it's music. But referring to a dubstep DJ as a musician is a slap in the face to musicians everywhere.

  63. F.... ....

while its indeed unfortunate that some people get overlooked due to the popularity of dubstep, that doesnt make it bad. and your saying people who make the digital sounds dont spend alot of time on there music. you just need to be more open minded.

  64. c.... ....

I hear no "instrumental sounds" I hear a bunch of digitally produced noises put together to make some sounds that make people happy in a dance club, but have absolutely no merit when compared to people who waste a hell of a lot of effort to build up talent that gets absolutely no recognition and swept to the side to make room for the dubstep/dj trend.

  65. F.... ....

music is defined as The art or science of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. so it seems like you need to learn the truth

  66. c.... ....

Silly little boy/girl, dubstep isn't real music... just like a DJ isn't a real musician. One day you'll grow up and realize the truth.

  67. S.... H....

Actually the other day I was listening to Jia peng Fang's Silent Moon. ^_^

  68. S.... W....
