I absolutely love this song you know I feel so much more connected to yeasayer after this album got released the first love of my life my high school sweetheart how I thought I'd spend my life with he killed himself and knowing that that happened 2 the singers love I can't even put into words how close to my heart this song is
This is definitely one of those songs where I first listened to it, liked it, and then actually listened to the lyrics and it took on a whole other meaning and layering. Really the entire album is extremely interesting to consider from a lyric perspective.
I hope that this turn to single, it's so magic and emotional. Very beautiful song, the world needs to listen.
Such an amazing album
The start reminds me a bit of There There by Radiohead (my favourite band so a bonus for sure) but the rest, it's just a bit too bland musically for me. Like Yeasayer playing it too safe, or maybe it's the production.
I think this whole album is going to sound so much better live.
There's something real special about this album. Not quite sure what it is, but i don't think i've ever felt so strongly for an album as i do for this one.
It gets better the more you listen to it. I'm hearing and appreciating new things I missed when I first heard it on April 1st. Most of the songs shift and change as they progress, instead of repeating in a traditional format. I think this has added more depth than previous albums, and I also think they've been brilliant with layering multiple instruments. I love this particular song, but I also think it's the easiest for most people to listen to. IMO, it doesn't showcase the band's true talents.
Probably the most human song Yeasayer has ever created. Musically and lyrically, it's just instantly relatable.
