Yankovic, Weird Al - Pacman Lyrics
(one, two, thray, four)
(one, two [nasal hocking sound])
I used to be a pinball freak
That's where you'd find me every week
Yeah it's the Pacman
I love to gobble up those dots
Keep pumpin' quarters in the slots
They call it Pacman
Yeah it's the Pacman
At the game arcade, they say I'm hard core
I can play all day 'til my hands are sore
And I quit my job just to play some more
Pacman
[music from Pacman "intermission"]
Well it's the Pacman
Yeah it's the Pacman
Well it takes a lot of cash to play
(Pacman, get the cherry)
So I'm gonna sell my house today
(Pacman, eat 'em up)
I'm playin' Pacman
Yeah it's the Pac-ma-an
Hey mom, I won't be home this year
(Pacman)
Please forward all my mail right here
(Pacman)
I'm at the Pacman
Yeah it's the Pacman
And you're playing with no one but me
Pacman
[music from Pacman "intermission"]
[sound from when Pacman dies]

Yankovic, Weird Al Pacman Comments
Waiting for this to be in Smash 6
awesome
I wish I was on youtube when this came out on my birthday.
Never thought I’d hear a parody of this
*the taxman ha left the chat*
It’s a major injustice that “Weird Al” doesn’t have his own Sirius channel!
This should’ve been a little slower
Have you play Pac-Man? Then you played Tax Man without even knowing it. -AVGN
I could see why Al didn't release this. It would (probably) overshadow the popularity of Buckner & Garcia's "Pac-Man Fever" which came out around the same time...
If I remember correctly, Weird Al actually couldn't reach an agreement with Namco or something like that
God dammit.. I can't say anything cause it's funny as hell yet Taxman is my favorite song by the Beatles.
this is just s genius song with a great bassline and guitar and it works perfectly with these lyrics.
Never heard this one - great.
I wonder if he got to the kill screen
I like the use of the 1980s arcade font for the lyrics! ☺
Did you know that the original name for Pac-Man was Puck-Man? You’d think it was because he looks like a hockey puck but it actually comes from the Japanese phrase ‘Paku-Paku,’ which means to flap one’s mouth open and closed. They changed it because they thought Puck-Man would be too easy to vandalize, you know, like people could just scratch off the P and turn it into an F or whatever.
I can tell it's a Beatles parody.
The Beatles are alright I guess but wired al, wow. What a musical mastermind. Truly moved by his musical genius.
i wish they'd release this album as a standalone album
He should have done Batman
The Beatles is my favorite band from the 1960's
Weird al yankovic is my favorite band from the 1980's
Me: Yo can I see your homework?
Friend: Yea, just don’t copy it.
Me:
I wish this was on his first album in 1983 weird Al Yankovic I could get it on CD with out spending that much
wonder why this got copyright striked?
Because the Beatles, god love em, are a bunch of money-grubbing rich guys. McCartney is the main reason Article 13 happened. I mean it's like they wrote a song complaining about how much they hated paying taxes or something.
Fun fact did you know pac man on an apple computer it was called tax man
Ok then
I LOVE BEATLES CAUSE I'M THE TAXMAN YEEEEWAAAH THE TAXMAN ITS ONE FOR YOU NINETEEN FOR ME
There's basically no way to listen to Taxman now.
Update: There's a 2009 remastered version available on Youtube..
Oh and it’s on I tunes
With all parodies u make your version is always better including this one you beat the Beatles the best selling band of all time I congratulate you sir you are the best at what you do
How much do you think he paid to use the song instrumentals
Nothing. His band is very talented
In an alternate universe, Weird-Al released this 35 years ago, and it became a staple of parody songs.
I wouldn't be surprised if a game-addict actually sold their house for extra game quarters.
Ivanka Trump & I were born in 1981, the year of Ms. Pac-Man.
love the drum sounds, and the harmonies, no autotune back then!
Not weird Al, it's a band called Nuclear Bubble Wrap
It says "A tribute to Weird Al Yankovic". You should do your research better
What is wrong with you?
Al recorded this song in 1982.
This song is outdated. Still like it
Sean Hunt good thing It's not weird Al, it's a band called Nuclear Bubble Wrap
This is the flyest shit Ive heard today.
wow, never heard this before!
Lol just realized he made this 2017 XD
Dumbass Beatles not letting Al put this on an album.
sha11235 Not weird Al, it's a band called Nuclear Bubble Wrap
@1974dormouse No, wasn't it the Beatles? Well, why hasn't he put this on an album? It could work.
sha11235 it's not the Beatles. It takes 10 seconds, just Google the song name
sha11235 but yes, the Beatles did write "Taxman", but this specific version is not the beatles
This needs to be on Spotify
VILEMasterShake it is. It's a band called Nuclear Bubble Wrap
1974dormouse thx dude
wow loved it
Too bad this didn't come out back when it was supposed to. Probably would have been a big hit
He who is tired of Weird Al is tired of life
so apparently he recorded this in a friend's garage
I half wonder if Weird Al's a fan of George Harrison. XD In addition to doing this and a parody of "I Got My Mind Set On You" he does a really good cover of "What Is Life".
Have you played Pac-Man?
Then you played Taxman without even knowing it.
Weird Al predicted obsessive video game culture in 1982.
the attention to detail in making it sound like the original is superb :)
I think Taxman is funnier
Anyone else get that sinking feeling in the gut when the sound effect played at the end?
I love beat and sound
No one is safe from Weird Al not even the Beatles if George Harrison was alive today and heard this he'd be laughing his butt off.
Al Ive been lstening to you since I was a kid and yet Im 50 and .......your??
One thing that me and Weird Al have in common (Even though me and Weird Al never met): we both like Pac-Man! ^_^
During the part at 0:48 they should've found some way to put "If you make me stop, then I'll punch your face"
I saw the title and instantly liked.
Today we are blessed with the release of a new Weird Al song
Some people wonder where Pac Man is these days. After enjoying years as a celebrity, his fame finally ran out. Merchandising, TV spin offs, and arcade themed pinball machines became a thing of the past.
Sadly he never revived the stardom he once had, and spiraled into a deep depression and resorted to over eating as a way to cope. One day he was found dead in his home, suffocated by force feeding himself various fruits. Among the items in his stomach were 9 keys.
Good christ, Pac man is almost fucking 40! XD
Awesome tune!!
This actually isn't part of the Squeeze Box set but rather on an album titled Medium Rarities that came out at the same time.
I understand why this wasn't released until now
Weird Al's Music always pulls my only mentor out of a Deep learning nightmare because we digs units
He's the best! 😊😊😊😊
HES BACK
Great song and video.
I was wondering if I would ever hear that glorious accordion again.
doesn't make sense considering that you can buy a pac-man cabinet
There was a game called "Taxman" that was a direct-clone of Pacman. I'm not kidding.
"Ever played Pac-Man? Then you've played Taxman without knowing it!"
- AVGN
Before the epidemic of crack there was the epidemic of Pac.
Unfortunately I think I feel the same way about fallout. God I hate that game its such a glitch! I cant stop playing it!
You stink, loser.
I love you, Weird Al.
It's the tic tac man
Jeez, still as amazing as ever I see.
Of there's a Pac-Man movie this has to be the theme song.
He's BACK!!!! YAY
Love it
wakkawakkawakka
I can't believe this song wasn't released at the time. It's brilliant.
Awesome bassline by Jay West.
You mean Steve Jay. Jim West plays regular guitar and uke.
lol
this song makes me laugh so much...
anyone played cards against humanity?
Now it's my favorite song of all time
I'm really surprised that "Polkamon" isn't on this set.
You guys should listen to the original
I suddenly remember that avgn episode where he mentioned a pacman clone called taxman
really well done!! as usual
_Taxman,_ the _Pac-Man_ clone, was released for the Apple II computer in 1981 (coincidentally the same year this Weird Al parody was released)... but the developer of the program, Brian Fitzgerald (whose employer HAL Labs was unconnected to HAL Laboratory which later became a subsidiary of Nintendo), was sued by Atari, which as part of the lawsuit was awarded the code to the program (and subsequently reworked) and re-released the game itself in 1983, under its Atarisoft brand, as _Pac-Man._
I never expected him to do a parody of The Beatles, but this was pretty funny honestly. Taxman is a really good song as well, it's one of George Harrison's best songs
Love it! This is some cool gangsta shit right here!
But there was a game called Taxman, on the Apple 2. If you've played Pac-man, you've played Taxman without even knowing it.
WHEN DOES THE ALBUM COME OUT!?
Still not as good as Buckner & Garcia's take on the subject.
Dear god
wow this is so old lmao
"take me to your leader", they said. "Weird Al", I said.
Finally! Yes!
