Yeah, Tom Holland’s Spidey is nice for the MCU, but Toby Maguire’s had this sort of magic about him thanks to Raimi.

I was eight when I heard this song for the first time, damn it was so long time ago...

It was said that Aunt May secretly knew that Peter was Spider-Man. When she is saved from the building by Spider-Man, he calls her "Aunt May". It was probably the tone of his voice or the way he said it that gave it away.

i can't believe i found this .. this was perfectly done ! i didn't even know that Piano Man existed first ... man ! Nostalgia !

I was -1 when this movie came out. My brothers were three. Of course, when I was one and they were five, the sequel came out.
I grew up on these movies because of my brothers.
And I can't really say how grateful I am for that.
By the time I was four, the third and final installment had come out. I remember my dad having me listen to this song (I'm not sure if he showed me this video, but it's quite possible), and I loved it. Absolutely loved it.
And then a couple years later I learned it was a parody and must've sounded so stupid to my mom. I don't remember everything, but I'm assuming it went something like this:
We're in the car (this I remember), and my mom plays Piano Man. I get confused when it isn't the right lyrics or voice. I ask "Why is this not the Spider-Man song? Did someone copy the music?" My mom is reasonably confused and asks "What do you mean 'Did someone copy the music'?" I tell her "This is the Spider-Man song, it has the same music." My dad at this point has probably started laughing and has to explain it to my mom.
I sincerely thought that this version was the original and whatever song my mom was playing was by some copycat who stole his melody.

To this day, everytime I hear the beginning of Piano Man (which is a great song and I love it), I wish it's going to be the Spider-Man version.

Actually I think the first Spiderman movie is kind of a sad movie because 9/11 happened right before this movie was supposed to be released and initially the World Trade Center was featured in a few scenes during the film but had to be removed for obvious reasons. :(

Although this is meant to be a parody, IMO this is a genuinely great song in its own right.

Yankovic is genuinely talented--it make sense for him to keep up the goofy shtick, but he really puts in the effort to make it an individual work of art that stands on its own.
