Nature Trail to Hell sounds like an exaggerated version of Sleepaway Camp. Cub scouts get hacked to bits (in just one scene, but still) and the ending is something you truly have to see to believe.

This is a hidden gem of his catalog. It's a fantastic song, atmospheric and well written. Shame it's not as popular as his parodies.

Sadly none of his original songs are as well known. A lot of people think Weird Al only does parodies (even ones that aren't really him. I.E. Elmo's Got a Gun, The Devil Went Down to Jamaica, etc). Nope, he also writes original songs too. He is underrated as a songwriter

@JoeCamelLives I particularly like the songs where the song itself is original, but he's parodying the _style_ of another artist. That takes a whole different level of musical ability. This one, for instance, is a very sharp riff on Jim Steinman. "Dare To Be Stupid" is the DEVO song DEVO forgot to write. And so forth.

@ZGryphon I will fully confess that this is the first time I heard this song today. I see why so many fans bring it up as a favorite now. That said, life can be a real kick in the urethra, and whenever I need to get fucking pumped to take on the world, "Dare To Be Stupid" is always my go-to jam.
