Criminally underrated band. At least here in the US. Sadly it does not surprise me.

Looking 3 hours for this ...thanks for posting...XTC were very experimental..when it worked it was epic

So timeless.

My first experience with the band was the Fossil Fuel compilation. Great Fire, Wonderland and this tune really stood out for me. Love the Mummer album. That album gives me a summer vibe because of its pastoral songs.

Heard this a couple of times (briefly) in the rec room at school back-in-the-day - always stuck with me. Superb song- & lyric-writing. And so beautifully evocative of an England (sadly - & for a number of reasons) RAPIDLY disappearing. WAKE UP, PEOPLE !!! Soon such gems as this will be nowt but a (very) distant and lovely memory. Stand up & speak out.

This could just be the best song ever written on paper by man , its so simply perfection I am at a lost for words . Life without XTC is like life without air ,  just not possible ! .

Yeah, they are my favorite band. I really love "Books are Burning" recently as it is so app as far as the PC world today. Sure I hate a lot of hate speech, I got banned from You Tube for trolling Nazis, but I still think it needs to be allowed. How else are we to find out the haters and potential shooters without it? You may disagree, but it is a very dangerous time when people can't freely give their opinion. That is what XTC was concerned about.

Agree they don’t need the validation but this band needs some recognition for their contribution. One of the best bands ever out of Britain and Britain has produced a lot brilliant bands. And a very influential band too.
