I love her voice. I don't normally listen to the song part of Free Bird, I tend to just skip to the fast part. I'm picky to a fault about slow music. But her, I'll listen to her sing it. She makes this work for me.

Frick'n amazing set of "Pipes" on that wonderful Gal!!! We just got back from seeing Wynonna and her AWESOME BAND - with Cactus @ the helm producing producing producing so damn well, at the Walhalla PAC in Walhalla South Carolina. 446 people seated, and we were treated to channeling Wynonna's inner old school self, totaly Zoey cool. She was so cute!!! Best concert of the year + by far! GREAT Audience, even better with a Happy Wynonna on Stage!!! GREAT NIGHT!

He was original Elvin Bishop.
He was in the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band,
BTO, Boston, Pink Floyd and was the original Springsteen.
He died in 1974. Murdered.

Her cousin is Naomi.
Her father's mother was Jane Russell Kate Jurado and,June Carter.
Her father's dad was Johnny Cash.
One kid Elvis, that's all they had.
She did lose a baby at birth his twin was Jesse.
Wynonnas real name is Jessica: song by her parents upon her birth.
Her mother's mother was Rita Hayworth and Patsy Cline.
She didn't die in a plane crash.

I read in the liner notes of Skynyrd's Frynds tribute album she really didn't want to sing it she said it would be like doing white Christmas by Bing Crosby but original guitarist Gary Rossington convinced her too I think she pulled it off we use to own a couch her &her mom Sat &sang on at Randy Owens sisres house for the only televised June jam we bought it from his sister but my step dad sold it I still remember the song they sang on it grandpa,I love her voice- Skynyrd Nation

Big fan of Wynonna.

I wish she would do an all southern rock/classic rock/blues-rock album, where her big, rapsy and husky voice could belt over lots of electric guitar and Hammond B3 solos.

Her voice really works with the music on this...but then she's been doing this for a billion years, so she should know which tunes work. She could have used her voice in just about any genre she wanted to. I love the fact that she really chose not to have a particular genre, simply sang the songs and worked on the projects that truly drew her heart and soul into them. great cover. still love the original too - but not many female artists could really pull this off.........and her bands have always been great...hard not to get hooked on that guitar work though :)

@Christy Kunkle Its on her Revelations cd & also on the Lynyrd Skynyrd "Friends" cd which is also a great cd. Hank Williams Jr. sang the Skynyrd song Tuesday's Gone shortly after his girlfriend died. I think it was in a car wreck & no one knew if He would take part in the cd but He did, & He did the song justice much like Wy did here. There's also allot of other bands that took part on the Friends cd I have both of em & both are some great music. If ya don't have em, you owe it to yourself to check em out. You'll be glad ya did. I did, too. Phenomenal!! It was in Johnson City, TN on May 23, 1996. She was 8 months pregnant with her daughter Grace.That was one hell of a show!! The opening act was Blackhawk!
