Wynonna Judd - Change The World Lyrics

If I could reach the stars
I'd pull one down for you
Shine it on my heart, so you could see the truth
That this love inside, is everything it seems
But for now I find, it's only in my dreams

[Chorus]

That I can change the world
I would be the sunlight in your universe
You would think my love was somethin' good
Baby, if I could change the world

If I could be a queen, even for a day
I'd take you as my king, I'd have it no other way
And our love would rule, in this kingdom that we made
'Til then I'll be a fool, wishin' for the day

[Repeat Chorus]

Wynonna Judd Change The World Comments

I first heard Eric Clapton's version and then someone told me about this version. IMHO, Wynonna wins hands down. Just the way she says change is great and adds so much texture to the song.

    このすごく緩い皮の太鼓みたいな音は、何の楽器だろう?

  3. t.... f....

    こちらがオリジナルだ。無知だなあ、私は。

  5. L.... F....

    Is this old song?

  6. .... ....

    クラプトンより良いですね。

  7. N.... J....

Wynonna sounds great (when doesn't she?) but IMHO her version is a production failure. Babyface did Clapton's and it's far better. Also, his vocal arrangements are far better than the unimaginative "coo'ing" in this version. If Wynonna had sung on the Babyface-produced track (in her key, of course), the results would have been amazing.

    やはりカントリー味がいいです。

    僕はココア味の方がすきです

I much prefer Wynonna's--I defected from the Clapton camp after playing this version a few times.  I like the way she sings the refrain better.

  11. w.... ....

    This version is powerful.

  12. j.... ....

I love this version much more than Clapton's. There is something about the way that she sings the word "change" that is incredibly expressive.  Liked the song by Clapton, love it by Wynonna.

  13. C.... M....

MUCH much than Eric Clapton's version! More soulful and sexy! She deserved that Grammy. I am glad he thanked Wynonna and producer Tony brown in his acceptance speech. Good man, Eric. Good man. A lot of other artists would not have done that.

  14. R.... A....

one of the best song and version.I like it.

  15. X.... X....

never heard this version before, these chords dont lend themselves very well to this genre in my opinion, still a very beautiful song nonetheless

    X.... X....

Xulu Xac what the fuck you're talking about is anybody's guess...

  16. D.... B....

I don't know why I thought this was a much older song. It appears her and Eric Clapton sang it around the same time.... o well  no matter both sing it masterfully.

  17. C.... M....

No, Eric Clapton "bastardized" a Wynonna classic. She recorded it first, dumb shit! I do respect Clapton for thanking Wynonna and her producer, Tony Brown when he won a Grammy for his COVER.

  18. J.... M....

    Love!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. r.... ....

Love Wynonna's voice and the slide guitar - makes Claptons version look pedestrian

  20. h.... a....

who ever you are you are funny

  21. j.... ....

This version definitely has its own charm and production quirks. I like it. I personally think it's a matter of taste. I'm more familiar with the Clapton-version and I find his take groovier. Plus I think he did a fine job vocally. Again...a matter of taste

  22. l.... ....

How 'bout this concept: Instead of arguing which version is better, listen to each on it's own merit.
Apples and oranges each have their own value.

  23. 1.... ....

This song was written by Tommy, Wayne and Gordon Kennedy not Kenney. Soon I will post up a version of Gordon and Ben Clark playing a version that I think sounds better than this Wynonna version. It should be up in a month. It will be located on the Volunteer State Community College page.

  24. d.... ....

    Clapton's. Not close.

  25. r.... ....

I prefer this rendition. It feels more affirmative. More like someone promising to do all that if given a chance. Clapton's feels more wishful.

  26. j.... c....

good and fine. Clapton is good? but Wynonna is fine?

YOUTUBE "第31屆成大民歌賽 初賽 獨唱組-15. Change The World"song by a Taiwanese girl is good !!

  28. J.... ....

I had always known of the Clapton version, but I also listened to Wynonna. When I heard she'd done this song first, I FREAKED. It's like dreams came true!

  29. j.... ....

I like this version much better than Clapton's. I like the way she draws out the word "change"...

  30. r.... ....

@RJDallo it's more than that..... The Truth will prevail and what is to be will be,,, Just trust and Believe and the rest does and will follow, with or without them, they either jump on or fall off, one or the other....

  31. B.... ....

Both versions are great in term of singing. But when it comes to the arrangement, I prefer Clapton's with its cool electric organ, Clapton's guitar and the complex but beautiful back vocals (I still don't catch the melody though).

  32. M.... ....

@keefer2111 .You are so right. I very much enjoy her songs, a lovely woman

  33. M.... ....

I know, I'm not saying I hate it but this isn't my genre. She's good, don't get me wrong, but I like Clapton.I know everyone's different.

  34. C.... E....

I like both versions. That's the beauty of a song brilliantly written.

  35. M.... ....

I don't like her version, I absolutley love Clapton's version!

  36. T.... w....

i know she had a revalations album i can't find it anywhere.

  37. B.... D....

Not bad, but Clapton's version is superior.

  38. S.... O....

    excellent!

  39. D.... ....

Wynonna Judd actually recorded it before Clapton. Way to go on that research, buddy.

  40. R.... ....

I love this song! I totally agree, great singing and style! Wynonna is great...love her!!

  41. f.... ....

God those pictures of her are stunning

  42. M.... W....

    I love Wynonna Judd
