Wu-Tang Clan - Keep Watch Lyrics
[Verse 1 - Method Man:]
I ain't trying to be no D-boy
I love music, I'm a b-boy
Are you the undercover or the decoy
I'm heavy with the D, Trouble T Roy
Too much marijuana got me p-noid
I'm killing instrumentals with that All So Simple Can It Be, boy
Shout to Lil Cease, B.I.G., boy
And Funk Doctor Spock, I mean Redman that's not Leonard Nimoy
88 keys on the keyboard
I'm down to catch wreck, take them first three letters out of record
It's Meth, you heard it through the wire I could be more
Or washed up like Sonny Black's body on the seashore
That's a problem, I could be yours
A monster without the mad scientist and Igor
Got murder raps and never even murdered before
[Hook - Nathaniel:]
Keep watch, lights out when the beat drop
Keeping the streets locked
I'm calling all G's from each block, from each block
Keep watch, lame niggas out there can kick rocks
Run these streets out here don't need cops
I'm calling all G's from each block, from each block
[Verse 2 - Inspectah Deck:]
Codename Sensei, I live what my pen say
Game hall of fame, flow is MJ
Muy caliente, je m'apelle Rebel, capiche, comprende?
Son I'm touching 'em up, trust I'm like
Justin Tuck how they ducking the rush
Trying to break bad, you catch a bad break
Like I own a bake shop how I stack cakes
Greatness was nothing, Deck the next Nike ad
Wifey bad and my life got 'em slightly mad
Cause I shine like chrome in July
Soldier I opened your eyes, noticed the lies
DEA say I'm drugging 'em
I get you leaning hard, I get the fiends to nod, I mean they loving 'em
All hail your highness, terrific win
Put a so-called beast in his place, Pacific Rim
[Hook]
[Verse 3 - Cappadonna:]
Foul ass police, crooked ass friends
I don't give a fuck yo, the drama never ends
I'm a project nigga, I don't care about the Benz
Plus I had a lot of chicks, you can have those bitches
But I murder your bloodclot if you touch my riches
Yeah crazy ass skipper, I be in the slums, nigga
Fuck where I come from I'm a quiet gangster nigga
First I get you comfortable, then I start shanking niggas
Park Hill code is don't violate the family
Brother to brother it's no snakes in the amnesty
I come through wilding on some Wu-Tang Can It Be
Googly-eyed nigga, chop his face in the ministry
Never scared to do the time, fuck the penitentiary
Leave a bunch of dead niggas, don't forget to mention me
The angel of rap, the un-ordinary light
Already did what I was gonna do before you even got the mic
[Verse 4 - GZA:]
We left a large solar cloud distinguished by size
Interaction with the wise and civilized
The mind caused matter to fall into a center
A great deal of heat that'll radiate within ya
From out of this collision
The central cord became thick enough to trap its own light and bring vision
Each drop full of Hip Hop energy
Balanced on all sides such great symmetry
The bars unlocked the power of the stars
The mirror in the telescope pinpoint the Gods
From a distance, acting as a guiding coach
Analyze the board, universal approach
Retune the soul to a certain pitch
Changing the frequency frequently, hitting a certain switch
The love is paramount, the connect is brotherly
Respect for the intellect and broad discovery
[Hook]

"Lights out when the beat drops"
gza goes deep with the wordplay.....dope overall
Gza's verse was sick, enjoy the lyrics!

+Kmk14 It just doesn't get any better than those lyrics from the GZA. Simply lyrical imperial bars...fantastic metaphors from the god. Who else rhymes this way?
merci nova :)
Not a good album, but had a few bangers like this on it
what happen to the energy in wu tang....
This Shit goes so fuckn hard that I still through up the 303 Denver's Shinjuku, suuuuuuu

Love the way Cappadonna just slices through tracks with that agressive voice
+Warren Spencer Cappa is one of my favorite.
gotta luv this.nuff respekt
I sent um!
GZA just killed it at the end. Perfect song. IMO the best from the album. Respect.
FUCKING METH!
when you listen to this on spotify, there is a speech at the end of the track, does anyone know where it comes from?
@Massod or a conversation.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!
"Tryinna break bad, you catcha bad break."
That's my shit.
+batmanlooksgood Deck the man
wu thanksss for upp....
Comprende?
du ADVISORY ds ma live ,, yes!
Awesome beat Wu Tang Clan 4eva!!!!
I'M A SHAOLIN DISCIPLE, FOR EVER!
"The Mind Cause Matter to fall into a sinner, a great deal of heat that radiate with in ya..come out of this collision central core became thick enough traps its own light and bring vision" yo GZA always on that high science.
GZA took it all. He flawlessly finished the song. Wu forever!
+picochily gaming and more Yes I agree. he got straight scientifical on his verse as he always does. Meth didn't sit in no back seat either. He set it off.
Baaith Allah GZA is a light year from these other emcees.
Sound's very much like a Dre production... it's a decent track still, 1 of only 5 tracks i'd give time to listen to though, still disappointed, I was waiting/hoping for a bonified Wu-Tang album, now I understand why Raekwon wasnt too keen on how the album was 'sounding' and the direction it was going (... besides him being greedy for cash too lol)
Finally a decent song from their last album...
bass boosted version would be epic
Nathaniel is singing in the melody of ole boy on Rick Ross' Usual Suspects.... check it out.
Best track on the album!!
Smooth but Hard
who is natheniel ?
Too much marijuana got me p-noid!
Ssssssuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu....!!!
Bong Bong MoFo's!!!
PEACE TO THE GODS AND U IM GONNA GO WALK MY DOGS AND REPRESENT THE WU THEN DROP PHOTON BOMBS LIKE GALVATRON U KNOW WHAT IM SAIYAN JUST SAYIN I SEE YOU BABY
Love the Wu, but hate the hook on this song...shoulda been Meth speaking it, instead of some random dude half assed singing- still, copping the album this week
Beats are WHACK 2 def.
The sampling is some of the illest I heard in a while... Compliments the raw verses so well it's just ridiculous.
The verses were hot from the first listen,i mean thats Wu but i was slightly hesitant on the beat and hook. However, once I put it on in the car and really bumped it though... thennnn it really went in all around it hit way different. I highly suggest playing this song on in the car man great cruising track. Computer doesnt do it justice
THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!! I have been sayin tha same thing.
Cap, is the most slept on Wu member,, in no order, GZA, Deck, Masta Killa, and Cap, are my fav lyricist.. Rae and Ghost hon. mention. but i take ODB on 36 chambers as the best... he was going in that whole album to me.
@Grom Hellscream i gotta be honest man i never was feeling Masta Killa, he was always like a less talented GZA to me
@Mike Pelky Mmh, I like them both, but I gotta admit GZA is better, but Killa has some cold bars.
@Grom Hellscream my favorites was always Ghostface for his storytelling and realness, INSpectah Deck for complex multisyllable rhyme scheme, U-god for the powerful deep bass voice, I like all the members but thats my top 3
I go with masta killa, that guy had one verse on 36 chambers and it was definitely one of the best.
@Matt Norman one fckin verse...
All good till "Nathaniel"
The beat feels shitty at first, but around Deck's part in it really grows on ya. By the time GZA comes in, it's really good. Almost sounds like the soulful beats that are typically on GZA tracks, though a lot more minimalist.
this track is growing

What the fuck is wrong with people
i dont like it sounds wack
Rae won't be on the album
of course he is. listen to Ruckus in B Minor.
@askepios111 nahh he said it himself, that he and the label (not the clan) had a disagreement and that he would be absent this album
@James Johnson sounds like you're living in the summer still. They just did press conferences together this week. He's on a bunch of tracks. Listen to the new single Ruckus In B Minor, he's at the end. Watch some listening session clips on youtube, you hear him on some songs. LOL, get up to date yo!
Young, old, skinny, fat, younger, elderly, anorexic or plumply obese; Raekwon loves himself some ratchet pussy, it b in a niggaz blood he need it, raw dawg unwrapped- that's how real niggaz roll. And if a nigga catch a clap on the dick bitch gets clapped up super duper quick
This shit is almost too ill to be on wax, impeccable, WU never lost a step!!
Haha I live in Calgary Canada and in 2000 Rae, Ghost and Cappadonna did s show in a tiny hockey arena but they got the shit so live pandemonium broke out and cops shut it down, so my boys helped them get to they limo cuz the security they hired got shook and dipped! Lol I remember ghost and cappa got so blunted off that Canada kush they cut out the sesh, but raekwon was just trying to clock the main most ratchet , gutteriffic hood rat how's CGY has to offer LOL!! NIGHA GOT THE CLAP WORD!!!
yeh aututunewued hook.
I understand why a lot of people are down on the hook, but I can get with it. Best track so far out of the one's released for A Better Tomorrow
nah, it's a great song, but nothing can touch Mystery Of Chessboxin' and Triumph, the original Wu songs, off the first two albums are legendary
never heard it
perhaps you should. as a matter of fact I promote it
who is that nathaniel???
Nah man best track is ruckus in b minor
Best song of the new stuff...but why the lame ass hook? RZA...come on son.
Jus kick rocks duuude
Oh! Donna!
Lets this be the first song where Cappadonna individually shines.
That's a pretty good idea; I've listened to bits from quite a lot of albums (mainly OBFCL, OBFCL2 - which is sinfully underrated -, Liquid Swords and RTT36C.) but the only retail disc I've got is the greatest hits compilation. I'll check out some of their studio albums.
Seriously though, Only Built For Cuban Linx II is amazing. Have you heard house of flying daggers?
guess you didn't hear Winter Warz where Cappa just destroys the track, illest shit ever
@TheGuyWhoWroteThis I respect your honesty about never checkin him out. I am sure by now you have heard Winter Warz, since everyone and they momma mentioned you should check it out. But, 97 Mentality is a great sleeper you might like also. He rips it. Peace Fam.
@Sam707BFBC Wassup, thanks for reviving this song I completely forgot about it XD (come to think of it, I need to get proper back into Wu-Tang.) . Winter Warz was absolute fire, thanks everyone for firing down upon me like that, and ill check out 97 mentality in a few. I been into more recent rappers currently (not the mainstream shit tho.) but listened to Liquid Swords which is just sick. Thanks again for recommendations :D.
Donna killed it, he also melted ice cream
SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN TEKITHA TO SING THE HOOK..
Didn't like the hook at first but I do now. Tis good, like.
The hook ruined it. Rae had a point but the beat and rhymes are sharp
Nah Rae didn't really have a point because next thing he does is release his own single with Akon on the hook. He needs to record the verses and stop talking about nonsense. Meth came through with no money on the table. Just because he wants another Wu album out. Word.
instrumental pls!
This is trash now I see what Rae was sayin that hook is trash as a fan I'm offended
Rae and RZA both are to be respected. But the Wu killed this track. Rae just don't like singing hooks. But he just released a single from FILA with Akon on the hook. Bit of a contradiction, no? Rae also dissed the production on this even though it's the last original Wu Element left, Mathematics who produced it. The creator of the W logo. Mad disrespectful. Just because Rae don't like a sound doesn't mean us fans can't. Rae needs to get his act together and record those verses. Real talk.
@cbfwebs
Word
Guys...just drop the new album...20 year fans like myself are just waiting for it...release it WU
Is this from an album I can afford or single issue copy they going to auction off? Cause if is I couldn't give half a fuck about it.
No this isn't from the special album that they're selling to the highest bidder
