I dont hate Wovenwar, my ears are pretty tolerant and i know how difficult it is to sound different when the are 4 people coming from the same band with solid musical signature. This album sounds like Oh, Sleeper featuring Josh Gilbert of AILD.

Now that AILD is back...Stop arguiing...!!Wovenwar is musically better , or in another level , than AILD..and I think lyrically also..
But , that said, AILD is unique, and the sound and power they all have together as a band, makes it what it is...
Something very special to me too!!
Long live both bands...and hope Tim has finally changed his mind
Wovenwar is truly epic sound..Voices and drumming, composition, guitars , make them one of the best late bands out there =)

There will always be hate on any new band that is made up of musicians from another kick ass killer band. With that said this is some great music as well and shows how great they are as musicians to be able to go in a different direction and still knock it the fuck out.

really great album honestly, coming from aild album's this holds its own in a different way. like a mix between Oh, sleeper, aild, underoath, and especially thrice.

Compared to their first album. Utterly dissapointed.

tim was good i miss him but this band is a step up from aild and josh's vocals are amazing and nick is still the best guitarist if people want aild then listen to them its like all bands start heavy but after years there go a little main stream but still this band is great thumbs up .

This album is fucking awesome! I always run into Nick and Jordan around town, they're super cool, nice metal dudes!!

Dear everyone comparing Wovenwar to AILD, the old members of AILD clearly stated that this was a different style, so it's really unfair to compare it and the new vocalist to what once was. If you don't like it? leave and go listen to AILD. If you do like it? Cool keep listening.

Was hoping this album was heavier than the last. Nope. Depressing, your talent is being wasted on this mainstream garbage. At least we still have As I Lay Dying and Austrian Death Machine. True metal.

Can someone help me understand why I like the screaming on this album? I normally don't like screaming. Is it the type of scream? The way it fits into the mix? Something else???

I've always loved the back up guys vocals. And always wished he had more mic time. This band is that wish come true.

Not too bad. Prefer As I Lay Dying since it is much heavier, but this is still good. They are both completely different bands and music, so can't compare.

I honestly liked the debut album a bit more.

Their first album was something new and fresh. A blend of metalcore and Gothenburg with clean vocals which I liked. This seems like a lazier effort so far with more generic elements and overplayed riffs... however, the songs still have that certain fun and catchiness. I hope the second half of the album proves me wrong.

It took me a bit to leave As I Lay Dying for this band, but man I don't regret it. I guess it's because I'm a guitarist and prefer good guitar over good vocals lol. Although I do love the vocals in both, the guitar is where it's at!

Im here for the guitars, nick and phil are an awesome duo and they've inspired me so much with AILD to learn their songs and to improve myself over the years. I was really glad to hear that they've both started over with wovenwar and i really dig what they've put out so far. You can clearly hear that they themselves have progressed their playing and sound which intrigues me even more. Shane is doing an awesome job singing, clean and distorted alike. Progression for an artist is essential and i find it unfair that they are being judged for somebody in their past that didnt live up to his own words.

Better than AILD. Musically this album destroys AILD. Only reason I'm saying this is bc people keep bringing up AILD. I LOVED them but Tim is a prick. 🤷‍♂️

Compared to their first album, personally i was a fan of the faster pace that their self titled had. Then again that maintained the old AILD sound more. If this is going to be a new project all together it's understandable they are taking a new route to attract a new crowd of those who may not be overly fond or familiar to the original band at all. It's good, Is it comparable to AILD good? Hardly, but a good album none the less. I think we (long time fans) are all just expecting an As I Lay Dying reboot and will be disappointed if we continue holding those hopes.

this is great musically, but Tim belongs in this band. The new singer doesn't have what made the former band monstrous.

Here's my opinion. Wovenwar has absolutely no ties with AILD. They are two completely different bands. A good way to explain this is Pantera and Damageplan. When Pantera fell through, Vinnie and Dimebag buried Pantera's sound for good. It was done and had no connection to Damageplan. After Dimebag's passing and HellYeah formed, Damageplan's sound was buried as well. Those are Vinnie's words. That being said, good album. I look forward to hearing more from Wovenwar.

This album is Amazing! Great riffs, Great lyrics, and I think the vocals are much more versatile than the debut album.
As someone who will always be a huge AILD fan by heart, I think Wovenwar are doing their own thing in an awesome way.

I think it's good and just a bit above the generic stuff. A high school version of myself might have enjoyed this a bit more than I do now, though. Just personal taste.

This album is amazing, woven war was good in their first album, but this one is anazing.

Heard "Lines in the Sand" on XM this morning. Love the mix of singing and heavy metal/screaming. The guitar is pretty awesome on that one as well.

I like the first album more. On this one nearly every song is knida the same and sound exacly like every other Core Metal band who trys to be a mix of Bullet For YM Valentine and Bring Me The Horizon.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM! It honestly took a bit to grow on me but it is pretty incredible. The self titled album will continue to be my favorite offering from Wovenwar for now but, who knows what the future holds.

Compared to the first record this is horse shit. Don't care for it at all.

Love both of their records. I like the first one more but there are some really solid songs on this record. I'm just sad Phil left the band.

So much Dustin Kensrue in those vocals. Cleans and Screams. Definitely feel it on World on Fire and that verse in Compass? The "Oh what horrors await me" line is a straight Dustin melody from Red Sky. Luckily Dustin is a great vocalist and Shane pulls it off very well here. Not sure why this album isn't getting more buzz?

i was pumped for wovenwars first album... but if i can honest this is just generic metalcore material.. not that im complaining... its a great album.. the harmony between the guitar and vocals is beautiful at times and makes this album shine... its just... idk. kinda bland...

Pretty good album! I was a huge fan of their first album, as well as AILD, and i'm not disappointed with this one. Heavier tha the first one, it's nice that they don't do the same stuff over and over again

Love this album guys! Wonderful melodies, great pacing & the vocals are so clean. Don't listen to any of those people who try and compare to you As I Lay Dying . . . their just having a tough time excepting this is a different band. I was super bummed about what happened to AILD because they hold a special place in my metal upbringing. But now with Wovenwar I can be happy again . . . its not AILD but its something new and just as special. Can't wait to see what you do in the future and keep that unique sound alive!

A really solid album!! The mixture between the strong and soft is perfect and the voice is on the right spot!! One of the best bands in the last years. They did a great good job in composition as always!
