World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, The - Heartbeat In The Brain Lyrics

Whenever you find home, if everyone belongs there, feeling our bodies breaking down.
Just trying to find a way out to a city so big that it is bound to keep your secrets.
Pack your seats high, saying goodbye to your close friends.
Making some promises like "I'll see you again."
So when will I see you again?
(New apartment complexes rising)
I know a few chords that could make you miss me.
They ring and decay in this garage every few days.
Just trying to figure out this beat.
So if you want to come back east, then maybe you can help me find it.
(Take down your pictures pack your belongings.)
If your arms are just felt then when you hold me I'll feel held.
We'll sink in these notes.
It never felt like this.
Tell me we belong here.
If your arms become smoke then I'll have nothing left to hold.
We'll dissipate with these notes.
It shouldn't feel like this if everyone belongs here.

World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, The Heartbeat In The Brain Comments
  1. A.... A....

The singer sounds like Brendan from Modern Baseball

  2. K.... T....

Soy cuck music. I can ignore that fact, this music is simply beautiful

  3. N.... I....

Those generic scream ruin this song for me.

  4. C.... ....

    This is really good.

  5. R.... T....

Vocals remind me of the Pixies, I like it so far.

  6. j.... b....

I can't stand trendy hipsters, but I do really like this song..

  7. h.... s....

whenever i hear the "so when will i see you again?" part i just burst into tears every single time

  8. S.... B....

This is really an all time emo jam

  9. M.... E....

Honestly, I never considered that so many people would hate the vocals? I love the singers vocal range and I personally think it works great for this song and music genre.
I don't mean do police what people can't or can like - you're perfectly entitled to your own opinion and to voice it - but this 'perfectly imperfect' way of recording a song is kind of twiabp's brand and I hope you can appreciate them if you give this amazing band a chance!

  10. n.... ....

The synth in the beginning and towards the end got me hooked! This song overall is awesome though no doubt.

  11. N.... S....

And the most amazing music I've heard in a long time now comes to an end. Fuck.

  12. S.... T....

    RIP Tom <3

  13. K.... P....

This song just oozes with vibe and message similar to Night in the Woods... Love it!

  14. A.... E....

this track turned the water in my glass into soy milk

  15. E.... P....

this song is a fucking journey

  16. M.... ....

Not too many other bands can use such beautiful mixture of bass, guitar, violin, synth. I think the vocal issues are a minor problem when compared to the shear beauty of their musical talent, and I love to hear the violin used like this and on their song ra patera dance, it’s such a beautiful fit with the song.

  17. w.... ....

    white ppl have strange music

  18. g.... ....

    thank you lolina

  19. A.... ....

    Cried. Thanks for making this.

  20. G.... ....

Legit my first experience with this song was laying in bed at 2am, and looking out the window after a year long relationship ended.

Wanted some nostalgia so I listened to the emo playlist on spotifiy, most of the songs made me smile and laugh when they came on but this one pulled me out of that.

Made me feel like I need to live life, so the band name is on the nose.

10/10, great for MTV teen drama moments of staring at the moon while a single tear rolls down your cheek. Good memory.

    G.... ....

I hope you're out there living life.

  21. I.... K....

  22. C.... M....

It shouldn't feel like this, shouldn't feel like this..... IF EVERYYYYONE BELONGS HEREEEE

  23. S.... ....

It's funny cause I was just thinking this morning about how I'm naturally drawn to singers with imperfect voices. I don't know why exactly but probably it sounds more sincere to me. Also maybe because my voice is horrible and yet I like singing and I can understand the desire to have something to say yet everyone thinks you should just shut up.

Anyway I noticed I love Bright Eyes, Ani Difranco, Neutral Milk Hotel, Kind of Like Spitting, etc. I've never heard of The World is a Beautiful Place and I am No Longer Afraid to Die, but I will definitely check them out! If you have any other suggestions of similar bands, please reply in the comments. I'm open to suggestions! :)

    S.... ....

    Yessssssss

    S.... ....

Have you heard Modern Baseball? They are a similar band to this, and their singer Branden has a voice like that

    S.... ....

    Modest mouse

  24. K.... M....

what would you call the genre for this like music wise?

    K.... M....

    "the world is beautiful" genre

    K.... M....

A mix of Emo and Post-rock

  25. C.... ....

    Mayday Parade tittle

  26. M.... ....

Anyone know about more songs like this??

  27. F.... O....

why this sound like the montage music on MTV's catfish lol

  28. M.... ....

  29. S.... B....

    totally underrated band...

  30. L.... B....

reminds me of early modest mouse

  31. A.... v....

I might get punched in the throat by big fans, but the vocals kinda almost remind me of old Tyler Joseph and I'm loving it

    A.... v....

i love both bands so you're cool with me lol

  32. B.... K....

    I came for trepanation.

    B.... K....

    Me too...

  33. M.... l....

Album in my collection, thanks for vid.

  34. X.... 5....

After 4:10, that's some beautiful noise right there.

  35. J.... A....

This boy sings like milk <3

  36. m.... ....

would be amazing if it wasn't sung by a dying cat.

  37. u.... ....

    Sold on the intro tbh.....

  38. B.... D....

this probably should have been the true first song on this album. blank is cool and all, but this is amazing

    B.... D....

Blank is more or less an intro to this song; I generally consider the two of them as just one song.

    B.... D....

they sorta play them that way aswell

    B.... D....

OhHellfire blank sets up the mood and atmosphere tho, and quite perfectly at that

  39. J.... p....

As a fan of pixies, the vocals don't bother me.
You don't need perfect vocals that sound like every other band to play good music

    J.... p....

JD pitmint Frank Black is an insane vocalist tho... I’d kill to have his range and ability to scream. Not all people can do that

  40. I.... Z....

They have a lot of really interesting instrumental ideas, but, and I'm sorry for those who don't enjoy hearing this, they NEED a new singer. The current guy (I'm assuming this guy still has the job) is both monotonous and flat. Just my opinion.

  41. S.... ....

    Your opinions are irrelevant.

  42. U.... ....

Who's doing lead vocals on this song

    U.... ....

    +eric22701 no it's me

  43. W.... ....

    New album Harmlessness, get hyped!

  44. e.... ....

can someone give me a list of some emo revival bands i need more of this stuff

    e.... ....

    +Ellescer ™
Listen to the EP "Fuck your emotional bullshit" from a group called Snowing. They broke up a while back, but that EP definitely belongs in your collection if you like this kind of stuff.

    e.... ....

+sclaperz if u hate emo then gtfo of this video dumb fuck

    e.... ....

@lewis mcknight Man, he's not joking xD, it's a reall album, and a reall band, in fact it's really cool album

    e.... ....

Oh shit i didn't see the quotes XD sorry😂

    e.... ....

    xDDD so funny XD

  45. R.... ....

I'd rather an acapella version than an instrumental one.

  46. J.... G....

Why do I make the mistake of reading the comments on these videos?

  47. W.... B....

Had no idea there was a new "Emo revival" I'm surprised this is really good !

    W.... B....

    @Hunter Withrow Thank you I will !

  48. L.... ....

I love the vocals :) regular humans go through difficult struggles, so I like to hear regular people singing.

  49. t.... ....

    Cool song

  50. b.... h....

This sucks, i'm gonna try out the other "emo revival" bands.

  51. E.... K....

Emo Will rise again my friends i know this.

  52. c.... ....

    dammit, this song so deep

  53. E.... J....

They remind me of Lovedrug a little bit

  54. T.... M....

    omg <3

  55. K.... S....

If I see one more comment about how people hate the vocals, I will lose my mind. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. It's actually really simple.

    K.... S....

I love your comment but hate the words in it.

    K.... S....

@family friendly pg clean agreed, i just like to stir shit up.

    K.... S....

I think you guys see this the wrong way. The thing is, this is a really beautiful post rock album and this kind of music dont usualy fuck with lyrics. I feel like if there was no vocals we would totally forget about them being emo.

    K.... S....

    beepst exactly.

    K.... S....

    Nice pfp

  56. H.... N....

such a beautiful sound! and the vocals give it such an edgy mood i love everything about this

  57. F.... S....

Wow, the instruments give me a "explosions in the sky" feel, with a emo vibe that is vibrating through out the song.

    F.... S....

definitely 'heavily influenced' by explosions in the sky with the 'didididi doo doo' guitar bit

  58. C.... W....

really great band but enough with this "emo revival" bullshit. We don't need another 150 bands that sound exactly the same competing at the warped tour for a share of the music market -_- it's dead. let it be that way.

    C.... W....

Lol, you're just reinforcing the idea that there is a revival by saying that it is dead. It's never died, haha.

    C.... W....

Get stuffed. Like seriously. The whole emo revival is like a rehash of the last, with an element of math and post rock. Nothing like the last crop and probably nothing like the next crop that will inevitably appear in 10 years or so.

    C.... W....

    I'd prefer grunge revival

    C.... W....

    @JD pitmint which exists

  59. B.... S....

Hipsters...hipsters everywhere. Only liking a band because they have an old childhood photo and a long name which nobody has heard of...sigh.

    B.... S....

Actually the hipsters think the vocals are shit on this track

    B.... S....

nobody cares what you think you massive wheelchair rider.

    B.... S....

Further proving the fact that "hipster" = "person who doesn't share my opinion". Funnily enough, I actually thought the name sounded incredibly pretentious, and in fact still do to an extent. After listening to their music, though, I decided, using my own free will and individuality, that I actually like this band.

    B.... S....

@SmallvillenerdTwo he made a comment on hipsters. Hardly roasting anyone really is he.

    B.... S....

    we live in a society

  60. s.... ....

I want to fuck someone to a song like this. Like, a very intimate fuck.

    s.... ....

    you look 12 though

    s.... ....

    had never had sex

    s.... ....

Maybe its just me but that sounds horrible. The music and the sex would both just distract me from the other

    s.... ....

I'll totally end up crying lmao

    s.... ....

"I would like to fuck someone" Future tense Stop hating

  61. p.... p....

tears of joy and orgasmic pleasure

  62. D.... B....

Can they get rid of the vocals and just be an instrumental band? Then, maybe.

    D.... B....

+Tristan Mahler do be fair, i think its generally intentional. Its meant to sound like his voice is wavering to make the singing sound more emotional. Such as the last song off the new beartooth album (forgot the name), its supposed to sound like hes on the verge of tears. I think its beautiful but its not for everybody.

    D.... B....

Donavan tame your autism for a moment. Don't get so defensive because this dude doesn't like the vocals. That's perfectly fine, he's allowed to like the music and dislike the vocals and also post his opinion. I was about to post a reply to Dick Buffay, my man, and give him some recommendations of other TWIABP songs, which would be the more constructive thing to do.

just realized this is a 2 year old argument hahahahahhah. I actually agree with the guy though, the band is very talented and their vocalist is literally quite shit. He gets replaced by a better one though with their following releases (thank god) cause the whiny old vocalist kind of ruins a lot of the older TWIABP songs especially the really good ones.

    D.... B....

piss off Alex no one cares about this comment thread anymore we sorted it out anyway.

    D.... B....

Alex calm down literally no one cares, go spend your time more productively instead of getting spastic at me.

    D.... B....

Donavan Dover totally man it has so much emotion in the singing, I'm sure he could sound more clean if he wanted to, but they're an emo/indie post band, the vocals are SUPPOSED to sound depressing and a bit whiny if you will

  63. B.... C....

This band is so fuckin great. The lyrics are amazing, along with the imperfect vocals, yet fantastic flow and sound. This band really is meaningful. This'll be the shit that 15 years from now I'll look back on and get nostalgic about thinking of how great this band made my life. True talent and beautiful sound.

    B.... C....

I felt the same way about Sunny Day Real Estate. And they kinda started this genre almost 20 years ago. you'll like it or LOVE it. ^_^

    B.... C....

You have a good concept, and I agree with you fully. This band will be one of the many that when I'm old, and thinking about my teenage years and my 20's, I'll think of this band, Clever Girl, Loose Lips Sink Ships, Pianos become the teeth, Have Mercy, Joie De Vivre, Merchant Ships, and some others. This band will stick with me for the rest of my days though, not a doubt in my mind.

    B.... C....

You have an awesome taste in music, did you discover similar good bands over the past 3 years?

  64. c.... ....

    instrumental version?

    c.... ....

    Nope, sorry.

    c.... ....

    nope, sorry.

  65. N.... O....

Omg. Do people actually like this???

    N.... O....

@kyle stone Yeah I uh... Don't remember saying that? Lol I think you need to think next time before you comment :p

    N.... O....

What are these strange creatures attempting to communicate on my Internet?

    N.... O....

    Their new album is fantastic

    N.... O....

    let people enjoy things

    N.... O....

    This one does

  66. T.... a....

I'm so glad I found this. this is amazing!!!!

  67. K.... ....

really starting to like this band more :) the name is long af tho

  68. s.... a....

sounds like a crazy mix of American Football's technicality and Cap'n Jazz's unpolished, sort of punk sound. I love it so far

    s.... a....

    scooop a doop uu

    s.... a....

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you! A typical review of emo from a /mu/ user!

  69. J.... ....

    beautiful. <3

  70. 1.... ....

Why would you ruin such good music with terrible terrible vocals

  71. m.... ....

    SOUNDS LIKE MONEEN

  72. C.... R....

@kellen a dude i was thinking the same thing a few weeks ago

  73. k.... a....

for some reason, the album cover really reminds me of algernon cadwallader's fun album art from a different angle

  74. j.... d....

No problem, man. I think about that for some bands; however, then there are bands that I would be in the same boat as you that are indescribable (i.e., Voivod).

  75. P.... ....

To me they're somewhat reminiscent of.... The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die? Plz don't take my word for it as I could be wrong

  76. P.... ....

Yeah I couldn't agree more. The presence of those post-rock esque soaring and prevalent melodies is indisputable. But their style is clearly also derivative of all the bands that have been mentioned in this slew of comments, which is really just a testament to how wonderful this band is.

  77. B.... D....

    **whose

  78. W.... ....

That riff around the minute marks sounds like he climax riff of Your Hand In Mine by Explosions in The Sky.

  79. J.... ....

one of the few bands who's name does not fit in the search bar

  80. T.... R....

Emo does indeed distinguish itself with hoarse vocals, but it also has to do alot with the melodic way of playing the instruments; a kind approach where you loosen the boundaries that you have in hardcore. It really is just the sound that Rites of Spring started with, that has lived on over the years.

  81. Z.... ....

Well yes but I mean specifically sources and whatnot. Some bands blend aspects of some genres with aspects of other ones. Emo is just a subgenre of hardcore so aren't the lyrics one of the distinguishing factors?

  82. T.... R....

Maybe also noteworthy that members of the screamo band pg.99 went on to form pygmylush: /watch?v=mahS6DCwy_U

  83. T.... R....

Music genres are man-made, and not opinion-based. they are well defined and are also not based on lyrics; If you remove the vocals or lyrics from screamo its still screamo, just like if you remove the lyrics from dsbm.

Emo is just a word for a sound within the genres of music. Pygmylush don't play emo, but still they make their songs in an emotional/emotive way:
    /watch?v=ZFJ5Hljykcc

  84. I.... l....

Get in the bin, attic shoe.

  85. Z.... ....

Well yes, those examples you listed are blatantly wrong. Still, where do you get you information and how are you sure you're entirely correct? Also by modifier I mean more like lyrically and moodwise, like if the music is very emotive and emotional.

  86. T.... R....

emoviolence is what has become of the fusion between screamo and power-violence. That's thing yes; people use emo for bands that play indie rock or pop rock, they use the word indie for bands who play pop, metalcore for pop rock with some metal influences, etc.. This is with almost every genre, and its wrong.
You could watch this video if you like: /watch?v=26InIAbAf7Y
I suggest you focus on the music part, and watch it in parts if you like. *and try to be open minded.
    Have a nice evening ;)

  87. Z.... ....

Emoviolence? I've never heard of that. Mtv used to promote some good stuff though, like they even played videos by Death, a death metal band (one of the best in my opinion). I've heard other people say emo should just be used as a modifier. What do you think of Cap'n Jazz as far as emo goes?

  88. T.... R....

Well that's the thing, there are genres that derived from emo or are mix between emo and ..., but bands like sdre, or what people call midwest emo have no relation at all but that mtv started promoting them as emo (that should say enough). Nonetheless they do have good songs.
You could call Screamo, emoviolence, emogaze genres that progressed from emo.

  89. Z.... ....

Personally I think those bands are a progression of emo or at least a mixing.
I do agree about the other thing though, a lot of people limit themselves to only a few genres.

  90. T.... R....

That is what emo is --> emotive hardcore punk rock. Sdre and mineral and many other bands just don't play emo. One could see this as a narrow way to view this genre, but it doesn't matter at all as you shouldn't limit yourself to only a few particular genres.

  91. m.... s....

    Please leave

  92. K.... S....

oh shit this sucks so bad i thought wavves and cloud nothings were bad but fuck i hope this kind of shit doesnt get popular
