Wonder Years, The - My Life As Rob Gordon Lyrics
Kelly says that at the end of each relationship
The boy starts quoting lyrics from that Movielife song
And my mom says there's songs with her name in them
Except that one about a crackhead in Janie's Got a Gun
Well Matt says, when I mentioned him in Bar Bands
It got weird kinda quick
And I had a dream that
We named a kid we never had after Hannah Hold On
And I haven't listened since
Cause it tears me to pieces
Someone keeps putting on all of the sad songs
I keep singing along
The jukebox turns and I'm gone
I poked in all my quarters
Stevie said that if I woke up feeling hopeless
That I should think about it different
That I had it all wrong
It's not the end if you call it a new beginning
Plus it's a chance to write some bitter fucking love songs
I heard Quentin belt the notes to some words that Alex wrote
About dying alone
And I felt sort of whole
It takes a fucked up head to think about dying alone
When you're in you're twenties
So I'm glad it's not just me
It takes a fucked up head to think about dying alone already
Someone keeps putting on all of the sad songs
I keep singing along
The jukebox turns and I'm gone
I poked in all my quarters
Looking for the perfect swan song to walk out on
Someone keeps putting on the sad songs
Someone keeps putting on the sad songs
Someone keeps putting on all of the sad songs
I keep singing along
The jukebox turns and I'm gone
I poked in all my quarters
Looking for the perfect swan song to walk out on

Why does nobody talk about the obscure bonus track off of each deluxe edition? Not the short one or the acoustic one, but the loud and dark ones like this or Me vs. the Highway or I was scared and I'm sorry which are secretly the best songs off of each record?
Seeing them tonight!
"I had a dream that, we named a kid we never had after Hannah Hold On and I haven't listened since" love the Get Up Kids reference!
so is this where the hannah reference comes from?
"hey hannah, don't go"
the line "hey hannah" is based off one of soupys (the lead singer) friend Hanna who sadly passed away and they were really close
He actually said Hannah Hold On, which is a song by The Get Up Kids, a band Soupy is very fond of.
+Lucas Garibaldi They're talking about a song off the new album that is coincidentally about a girl named Hannah
High Fidelity is one of my favorite movies of all time and it makes me love this song even more
Even their b-sides are amazing.
who are christian and alex?
There's a Get Up Kids reference too with Hannah Hold On.
Bonus track!?
I never knew there where nonus tracks!
If you bought the cd did you did not get it. Pretty stupid if you ask me.
What came first? The music or the misery?
Nice FOB reference
That always sounded like Craig Finn of The Hold Steady to me :P
Matt says a lot of things haha
me to bro
I can imagine this song as the ending theme for a movie or something
"It takes a fucked up head to think about dying alone" describes my life
This song really gets to me... I fucking love it so much.
It takes a fucked up head to think about dying alone when you're in your 20s; so I'm glad it's not just me.
In the Track by Track article for Alternative Press Dan mentioned a timeline to the album a couple of times. Maybe this track just didn't fit in the story? Whatever the reason, I'm glad that we have access to it now.
Ikr! :(
The song called 'Kelly Song'
What Movielife song are they referencing?
Steven Schneck Kelly's song
I like the bassline at the beginning. Glad Josh didn't just play straight roots in this song.
For real.
i love this track so much!!
2:18 to 2:25... who else heard Mark Hoppus?
I wish they would've included a bonus track for the people like me that just buy the regular physical copy of the CD
WHY WAS THIS NOT ON THE ACTUAL ALBUM?!?!?!?!?
i just fund this song i had no idea that it existed
Definitely in my top 5 favorite songs by them ever. Oh and FIRST!
