Wonder, Stevie - With A Child's Heart Lyrics

With a child's heart
Go face the worries of the day
With a child's heart
Turn each problem into play
No need to worry no need to fear
Just being alive makes it all so very clear

With a child's heart
Nothing can ever get you down
With a child's heart
You've got no reason to frown
Love is as welcome
As a sunny sunny day
No grown-up thoughts
To lead our hearts astray

Take life easy, so easy nice and easy
Like a child so gay and so carefree
The whole world smiles with you
As you go your merry way
Oh with a child's heart
Nothing's gonna get me down

Michael's was the voice of innocence, heartfelt and tears. Stevie did it beautifully as Stevie does.

This is one of my favorite songs by Stevie I bought the album a lot of hit singles came off the uptight album

  28. c.... ....

    Sylvia Moy - RIP

  29. J.... M....

    sylvia moy is great

  30. e.... s....

    My Ringtone : for " life ".

  31. D.... M....

I think Michael Jackson's version has more heartfelt feeling in it

    D.... M....

    Everyone souls' voice sounds different.
I love both versions. Michael's rendition of this song is different than Stevie's,but both performers performed It very well.
Michael told once in one interview when he was still a child that ,,I don't sing It If I don't mean It''. As for Stevie-well he was very passionate about what he was doing at the time, besides, music was his main focus in life-in general. I imagine, that blind person doesn't chase after fortune ,fame or material stuff. So I trully believe that he sung this or any song as soulful as he could.

    D.... M....

    I agree

    D.... M....

    Stevie is the man!

    D.... M....

I guess it's what you grew up hearing. Never heard MJ sing this until today. I'm sticking with Stevie. JMO...LOL

  32. T.... D....

The summer of 1966 great summer right before I went into the U.S. Army. Man I will never for get it. And this song was the back drop of my summer then. Loved it then I love it now.

  33. J.... M....

    this song is something else

  34. J.... M....

I love benny bongo eddie and jack ashford background beat

  35. L.... M....

Thanks you tube for this memorable song, sad and happy memories wish I had to think twice to jump into this thing called marriage, didn't work, I know I'm not alone but again thanks.

  36. L.... M....

love this song.  children can be inspired by this song.

    L.... M....

    I totally agree

    L.... M....

    And Adults too!!
    Peace and Joy!!

  37. C.... D....

It didn't make it up the charts because it was a "B" side song which Motown always had A & B side hits...Love it.

  38. D.... S....

Michael Jackson did this song too!

    D.... S....

Sometimes improvement doesn't come with the second or third versions.

  39. t.... ....

i can still hear my mother singing this cut today, love you mama

  40. Z.... F....

    KILLER SOUL

  41. G.... Z....

The Motown sound and summers of the 60's. Best music.

  42. T.... H....

I was a kid when this was released.  As I remember it didn't make it very far up the top 40 charts.  The song grabbed me and it has held me ever since.  I agree with the comments about his voice:  he has always sung and played wonderfully, but his youthful voice is amazing.

  43. l.... ....

I was going to the (9th) grade when this song came out. Every Friday we would go Skating. This is when everybody knew how to Party, Hambuger's were .25 cent, F/F to and Malt's too,Gas $.25, a gal.

    l.... ....

I'm Old School also and remember those days and this song....loved the '60's :)

  44. K.... T....

michael version makes me smile, doesn't sound sad to me.!! i don't know to each its own!! more soulful maybe....not sad

  45. K.... T....

mike got em though....but this is still nice

  46. c.... ....

If only this was possible...the world would be a wonderful place to live in...what ever happen to mankind.....everyone is in such a hurry, forgetting to smile or say hello, or thank you, and please...... I miss the good old days..when people acted like humans.

  47. v.... ....

this version makes me happy..Michael's voice make me to cry so much coz he was singing really sad :(

  48. S.... ....

@timmy841212 When I first started listening to soul music regularly on the radio this is how Stevie sounded. Songs he did in the late 70s and 80s are classic but nothing like hearing the teen voice of Stevie. you could feel how much he enjoyed singing. He has the right voice for this song, hands down.

  49. L.... ....

i love michael jackson and stevie wonder's versions.
i dont think they should ever be compared. they have totally different styles to them
Michael's is more deep and stevie's is more happy.
they are both amazing in their own ways!

    L.... ....

    Thank you.

  50. M.... ....

    miss you Victoria

  51. C.... ....

Well, I was a child when this version came out. So, this one struck my child's heart at that time. However, I really love Mike's version, as well. As someone else pointed out, Mike's expresses pain. This one expresses the wonderment, amazement and curiosity of childhood. Both are beautiful. Both are my favs.

  52. h.... a....

MIKEA VERSION WAS TIGHT BUT DTEVIES WAS THE ORIGINAL THE MASTER WROTE THIS........ONE IN A MILLION THE MAN IS BAD

  53. R.... C....

Stevie's version show's the excitement of being a kid. whenever being a grown up is too overwhelming, face the world with a child's heart. children are always positive...michael's version is more somber. it's like he's in pain, but there's hope. he can face his worries with a child's heart...Vocally I like Stevie's better. He sings it with like no one else can. Musically Michael's touches me more. It's slower and more to my taste.

  54. t.... ....

@MOONTOP56 Well said, I agree with you Stevie version is better and I love Michael, but this is Stevie's song!!

  55. T.... ....

@Gorillagal247 I agree!!! Michael's version always be makin me bout to cry, Stevie VOICE!! Is a feel good voice!!

  56. C.... ....

love both stevie and mike....no doubt. but i think mj's is more sincere, stevie's just reflects more joy. which aint a bad thiiiiing.

  57. M.... ....

Stevie is the best I love michael but he just can't sing this song like stevie can both are great but Stevie is the bomb... love you both..

  58. t.... ....

I'm sorry Mike, I love his version, but Stevie's has an extra flow to it. I love his teen voice here. :)

  59. M.... W....

@rxs98 Motown used to do this ALL the time........their singles were literally mixed for radio....more base, more background vocals, more up-front guitar work. The album versions of their songs were always a bit more "mellow" and not as "radio friendly."
Just thought you'd like to know..........

  60. c.... j....

Michael Jackson's version shows more pain and makes ur reflect about being a kid and your childhood but stevie's version it more upbeat and makes u more happy....both versions are beautiful in their own way...:D I personally lyk MJ's better bt i love Stevie's too Stevie is mindblowing :D

  61. t.... ....

    Best version <33
Even though I love them both
    This is just amazing!

  62. i.... ....

i didnt know this was a stevie wonder song

  63. r.... ....

Thank you for posting this great song! I wonder if any Motown fans ever noticed that the 45 version of a lot of our favorites were a little different from the album versions?

This is definitely an album version which is slightly different. I do not know how to post songs, but when i learn iwould like to play the two versions so you can hear what I mean about the differences.

  64. m.... ....

Oh no Stevie Wonder everytime!! Love him!!

  65. T.... ....

I like this version than Michael Jackson's version, The original is always the best!!!

    T.... ....

Get some help, no it wasn't better than michael jacksons because their both equal but i think mj had more soul into this and his childhood
