when my son was 10 years old i was singing this song , thinking i was alone , and when i finished singing , my first born said that i had the most beautiful voice he had ever heard. that was 40 some years ago but when ever he comes home to visit , he always ask, ARE you going to sing for us mother ? of course i'm always happy to sing for him , and when ever i hear this song it reminds me of the not to distant past. Jack Bruce was recording a bass overdub on his song Keep On Wondering as a tribute to Stevie who was working on First Finale at The Record Plant and James bursts into the control room, thinking it's Stevie's session. He grabs Jack's bass and says, "That's not how it goes-it goes like this!". Then he realised it wasn't the Stevie Wonder session. Jack says James was an amazing guy and they got to know each other quite well after that. Jack was told that "Tamala/Motown was taken over by the Mafia and they didn't want any junkies working there. They fired James basically and it finished him off. For James being in LA (vs Detroit) was like being in Siberia."

A tribute to Sneaky Pete's pedal steel guitar playing that matches Stevie voice perfectly. Sneaky passed away, but his contribution to the Pedal steel guitar is enormous. Than to Stevie for recognizing an instrument that is not part of the regular pattern of rock songs. This tune is perfect and god bless Stevie for having the courage to include this wonderful instrument in his music.

I didn't know he was the original artist until months ago. I had only heard Jody Watley's. The originals always sound the best. Don't get me wrong I like hers also, but he really gets spiritual with the song.
