If anyone asks me what my favourite Stevie track is, without even batting an eyelash, I'd say this glorious one. Everything about it is perfect: from the instruments (the warm bass with the ethereal guitars and the shuffle in the fast bit to the trippy synths plus tender guitars of the slow bit ), the splendid vocals, to the arrangement, to the experimental sounds, everything. I think my favourite thing about this is the contrast between the two parts of the song. I always imagine it to be the image the persona projects regarding his girl leaving him vs. how he really feels. Just gorgeous !

Absolutely, hands down my most humbling musician. I have an arrogant streak, sometimes I think very highly of myself. Then I hear something like this by somebody like this; born with natural talent. He was only 21 years old and had already covered more emotion than I hope to.

I have ties to Howard University ( located in Washington DC). I graduated in 1993. Stevie Wonder was so big in the Washington-Maryland-Virginia area in the 70's and 80's. So many people not only appreciate him, but love the dude and his "incredible" music!

I was a still a Maryland resident! Stevie Wonder has always been appreciated by the african-american community.

Many others are finding out this man is one of the greatest musicians in the last 50 years! I am so grateful to hear many of his greatest hits ( this song is one of the greatest produced in the last 50 years).

Back in the late 80s, I had my first car and cd’s were all the rage. I used to vibe to this and all my friends were like WTF because it wasn’t “in” back then. Have to thank my older siblings for raising me right on Stevie, EWF, Motown. This music still hold up beautifully.
