Wishbone Ash - Sometime World Lyrics
I met a man who felt the same way,
That the world had passed him by.
Told to me all his troubles,
That the world had made him cry.
Regretting his pain inside.
Had to feel underrated,
And hated, besides.
Life had kept him waiting,
Regretting his shame inside.
Had to feel underrated,
And hated, besides.
Sometime world, pass me by again,
[x2]

The beginning reminds me the Friends' transition music.
I made a choice last year. Not an easy one. I regretted making it, however I knew I would have regretted the case if I did not make it, even more.
Even so, my pain was there and it was a self inflicting one. Whether I was foolish to care, I did very much and I suffered a lot.
This song was an anchor to me. In an unforgiving world I was surrounded by my old friends and one in particular my best friend. People were not going to forgive me, and I was doomed to care because they used to be my friends and I loved them. I knew I was doing the "right thing" but part of this right thing was to regret doing it.
In such times I was drowning in my own sadness and regret, this song was the only one thing on this world that felt like forgiveness. It knew my pain. It knew me. It knew what I had done and it was ready to be the first thing in my little universe to accept me for who I am. I am forever grateful for those sweet 6 minutes 52 seconds of relief periods. Thank you.
Melodic prog rock at its finest lolx
I remember this great album well from that era. They were known for their guitar work and were seminal for future bands. They never quite had what it took to become a mega band such as Genesis, Tull or Pink Floyd but were well appreciated by many people at that time. They still were a very important British band indeed though.
Gosh this singer have some very cool jeffbuckleyish vibratos, esp. in the first part of the song . But everything's magic here anyway...
Somehow, instead of "...kept him waiting" heard "captivating".... So, life is captivating then...
WHAT an album cover. Who needs words.
Amazing how "not so famous" bands are somewhat much more interesting than "great" ones... in about three days I've discovered Dr Feelgood, Humble Pie and Wishbone Ash... can't believe I had never heard of them before 😲
A song we all love
The best song of all time period. Martin Turner absolute wonderful songwriter
At their best..
No words awesome went to school w/turners here in Torquay,..local heroes
Wishbone Ash and Camel in concert 1974 was one of the best concerts I've ever seen.
Hey Mart, where is the UFO?
I feel like Iron Maiden brought this back in Remember Tomorrow.... Love the Wishbone! and up the Iron!
This song really speaks to me and is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, if I'm honest ;]
Нормально чуваки делали!!!
Masterpiece Andy and Martin enjoy!
from Scots Mags ❤️
The greatest ever English folk /blues rock / prog rock of all time.
Met Andy in the tour, Martin such an lovely person, Wishbone fans, they are as great as their music. Love them forever . xxxx
The finest guitar solo that has ever, ever been recorded
I rarely heard anything better than Turner and Powell.
Absolute top drawer this band.
Sorry for all kids with computer face
Sorry....should have beeen a "W.A. cover band" for sure..... ;-( ...
From 03:30h on you can hear EXACTLY who the true "Sultans of Swing" are..... unbelieveable Knopfler-esque sounding - but HE did this some decade later....THIS is the cradle M. Knopfler took his "signature sound" off....does anyone know if the Straits once started as a W.W. cover band?? ;-) ...
Nothing like a leading bass guitar to get the dopamine and endorphins flowing.
What a superior piece of music.
Yes absolutely
💞💞💞💞
This album by WA is a terrific effort. Love it!
Underrated and beautiful gem!!!
Life of Jesus. Bloody cloak, metal helmet because of the electronics being pointed at his head, and the fish-hook lance ("destiny"). Saw these guys in 1971 (I think) in a barn with free refreshments! Only 18 at the time. Radio did NOT play music like these guys did/do. I was amazed.
One of the greatest bass lines ever to be played in rock music. What a great sound he gets with that Gibson Firebird. Stunning work by Mr Turner.
I think Argus was opus magnum of wishbone ash
That bass line by Martin Turner. Nuff said.
なんてすごいバンドだ!!
what a great band indeed.
What a masterpiece!
2:40! ... 2:48!!! ... 4:46!!! ... Oh, & 0:00 - 6:52 ...
a few joints head phones on dame its awesome
Imortal creation
Pure poetry
Best guitar solo ever !
Seen them perform this last night the band g8!
After 40 yrs ah?
Yep,Argus is surely in the top 10 of the most important classic rock albums of all times.
A masterpiece , 30 years ahead of time... only a few were able to feel the reach...
Love love love. Listened to this song for years and it is still one of the best ever
Flying V
No worries
2:48 Amazing switch; guitars play the rhythm parts of the song and the bass is almost soloing :-)
τεραστια κομματαραα
This is fucking epic!!!
Argus? One word: CLASSIC.
belki bir gün bu şarkı altında karşılaşırız....
Brilliant, thanks for this
do you know who he is Realy talking about?
the end of days are near. ...
This tune is so great (bass part) that I saw southern rock band
Black Foot do it in concert of all things...
Argus najlepsza płyta wishbone ash
Epic! the best WA tune :)
Ah, the best bass tone ever recorded?
Quite possibly. And he still gets this exact same tone in his live shows, almost 50 years later. Martin is a beast!
Chris Squire
a fantastic song, and a solo that could continue for ever.
thank you up loader
An Iron Maiden book brought me here \m/
when they put me in the ground... this is the song...
Songs like this remind me of simpler times with a single joint and free mind of no worries and freedom to remind me of the progressive music of the day.
Ayeeeeeee !! Breaking my heart. I love that.
DIVINE SONG AND ALBUM........
Bravo whisbone ash Bravo
Argus was the best album they ever did.
why does this *Masterpeice* have 50 dislikes
One more great song from the classic Argus. Great vocals, great guitars and a powerful bass.
The twin guitars weaving in and out of that killer bassline in the second half is just sublime.
los solos is sublime
I arrived here from Maiden's bassist/songwriter Steve Harris comments about this band being a big inspiration. I have also read that they were big influences on Thin Lizzy and Phil Lynott, thereby they must also be large influences on King's X. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this but listening to Martin Turner's voice I hear 1980's voices such as Morrisey. I assume Turner's vocals in themselves were a huge influence for later bands. Wishbone Ash is a definite hidden gem, especially in the U.S.
this is my 'when i snuff it tune'
Sublime !!
Best ever just out of this world been listening from day i
Sigo en el porche de Chiclana, Cádiz, España, qué pasada de banda.
mis respetos.
I was 19 when my older brother Walid playing this album ... what difficult and nice days in Libya that time :-|
Das stärkste Album von Wishbone Ash,in meiner persönlichen top 50!Bass line great!
https://www.facebook.com/Lannigs-131834483621641/
it's me or this song looks like Deep purple's song "When a man blind cries"?
Always Look before you
Just try and get me off the dance floor!
status quo and wishbone ash should tour together.
Fierce bass. The side one tunes get overshadowed by the very British medieval side two, but the three side one tunes are all pretty incredible too.
Ekledim
aliens from the planet zog will enjoy listening to argus in a hundred years time, especially this track.
This is my life,short form.
Please remember to pray for the thumbs down people for they are tone deaf with little or no soul for real rock
Too late my friend. They are dooooomed, Doooooooomed ;-)
shades of 'america'.
Glorious stuff!
You have to wait until about a third of the way through this song, but then the lead and bass guitar get going and just blow you away. Awesome.
James Webb yeah like Lynard's Free Bird.
WHAT a song and what brilliant solos, esp the 2nd one where Andy comes in from nowhere with that beautiful fluid series of notes. Very special.
This song always reminds me of Yes, however the lyrics are different class. Love Yes but their lyrics are often meaningless.
Jon Anderson went for lyrics that "sounded good" rather than meant something meaningful .. so Yes (ha) ... both wonderful bands for different reasons ...
This album sustained me in dark times back in the day, still fuckin' great!
The First Time I listened to this song I Didn't expect the Bass line. i got wondered when i heard it, it's addictive.
There is everything there... Rush, Genesis, Marillion, Yes........................................
