Wishbone Ash - Hometown Lyrics

I have traveled the line,
Held many hands on short holidays,
Made a lot of noise
In the strangest places far away.

Only for a day or two at a time,
I've been moving with the wind
On my side,
That puts me free and easy in my hometown.

I said I'd stay alive
I guess I didn't tell a lie.
I told you I'd come back again
And I'll say the same again next time.

I've been living for a day at a time
Movin' with the wind on my side.

You don't know how good it feels
I know I'll never want to go away.
You don't know how good it feels
To be with you again -
I know I'm comin' home to stay.

I'm sayin', it's nice to be back home
Among my friends.
It means a lot to me
And your love
It never ends.

"Hometown" kicks trainloads of ass, especially on LSD! These guy are NUTS here!!!
The drummer & bass player are totally off their rockers! They sound like they are
high & half drunk, having a blast at the corner bar jam session, as does Yes on
"Going For The One"! (Meant in the most positive way!!!)

  6. A.... ....

A surprisingly good album after the previous three mediocre (at best) ones.

    A.... ....

    Argus is mediocre????

  7. P.... C....

    Great band - nice song

Wishbone Ash started using 2 lead guitarist, they set the stage for bands like Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Lynyrd Skynyrd and AreoSmith That use 2 Lead guitarist Not 2 Guitarist 2 lead guitarist.

I met this band several times, and they were so gracious! I have signed tickets, posters, and signed guitar pics! This band meant more to me than many MAJOR bands in that day! As a guitar player of 45 years now, their influence was huge!! Yes Mark...they did pave the future for multiple lead guitarists!!!

  9. E.... C....

    Love This One !!!

  10. m.... ....

One of my all time favourite albums. Especially FUBB. That song was the precursor to modern shred metal.

    Laurie Wisefield for President!!!

  13. G.... T....

Fond memories of Portsmouth Guildhall around 1974

  14. E.... R....

Laurie Wisefield could shred way before Yngvie Malmsteen. The twin guitar sound of Wishbone Ash came before Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Allman Brothers, Boston etc..
This is their finest album imo.

  15. c.... ....

I have not heard this album in decades. Thank you for posting!!
