Wishbone Ash - Ballad Of The Beacon Lyrics
We'll be leaving this town in the morning
Tomorrow we'll be able to see
I've seen enough of the city
And she's had enough out of me
Would you still follow me there
Steal me away in an echo
The mountains will always be there
I'm turning my sights on the country
I've sold everything that I own
I'm heading away from the bright lights
Looking for where the wind blows
Say if I climbed to the mountains
Steal me away in an echo
The mountains will always be there

really nice ballad !! they don't make them like that anymore !! great song
I saw these guys in 1973 when "Wishbone Four" came out....both Turner brothers were still with the band..i will never forget it..i still have my pictures i took there...Andy Powell with the Red flying V guitar....I'll never forget "Rock and Roll Widow"....they are very underrated....i don't think they made it very well, commerical-wise, but their style and medieval image is very unique and they have always been one of my favorite rock bands of all time......
Martin and Ted are not brothers mate.
Martin and ted Turner were not related, everything else you said checks out:))!
Martins brother, Glen, Martin and Steve Upton were originally in a Torquay based band called "Empty Vessels" they moved to London, Glen left and was replaced by Ted Turner and Andy Powell. They convinced the group of the twin lead concept by writing and playing "Blind Eye".
Great band - nice song
