Winwood, Steve - Forever Man Lyrics

How many times must I tell you babe,
How many bridges I've got to cross?
How many times must I explain myself
Before I can talk to the boss,
'Fore I can talk to the boss?

How many times must I say I love you
Before you finally understand?
Won't you be my forever woman?
I'll try to be your forever man,
Try to be your forever man.

[Repeat Second Verse]

Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Try to be your forever man.

Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Try to be your forever man.

Glad to be on earth at the same time as these guys. Extraordinarily talented, yet quick to pay homage to their forebears in this fabulous art.

  8. B.... E....

  10. B.... J....

    Clapton is GOD. Period.

This is one of the best arena jams in my opinion!

  12. j.... ....

    Timeless

  13. L.... P....

Would have loved to see this i person!

  14. M.... B....

I felt in love with this song when I first hear it at the begining of the movie Space Camp.

  15. A.... J....

My favorite Clapton song made better with Winwood.

  16. R.... D....

    Eric love your Music......

  17. A.... J....

    Clapton's best IMO.

  18. S.... A....

On the DVD for this concert, Eric says he had forgotten about this song but Steve suggested they do it. It's always been one of my favourites so I'm glad it was included.

  19. L.... S....

    the best clapton and winwood

  20. A.... C....

Please tell me how he plays the main riff and in what tuning?

    A.... C....

His whole guitar is tuned one whole step down so from low to high: D - G - C - F - A - D. That why he plays it in Em but sounds like it is in Dm.

  21. T.... ....

Blinding song and performance there , I've never managed to see them both live together - thank you so much for posting this here.

  22. M.... L....

I love how he wants her to be his forever woman and he will "try" to be her forever man.. I mean with all ladies on the road while he's touring it had to be tough...

  23. R.... S....

Eric and Steve, en una canción llena de enrgia. Que nunca se acabe...Fantasticos¡¡¡¡¡
    N.Y. Habia que estar allí.

  24. B.... ....

That Steve Winwood can sure play everything..

  25. J.... ....

2 great legends. I remember my dad blaring this on his very early edition CD players in the 80's and I was hooked ever since.

  26. J.... B....

    This version is BANGING

  27. C.... V....

Love it this is amazing, great song.

  28. D.... V....

Clapton+Stratocaster= GOD OF THE GUITAR FOR EVER

  29. T.... G....

Clapton is a completely different guitarist from what he was in the 60s. Far more fluid. I much prefer him now to the Cream days. He was good then but over-rated...

    T.... G....

Hey Tom, he was high as hell in the 60s. He is a better musician now that he is sober, although I still loved him when he was high. Maybe that is because I was too.

  30. R.... K....

Eric's still got it going on. Steve ain't too bad either. Good combination.

  31. N.... n....

    Clapton= GOD

  32. T.... ....

I would have given my first, second, and third born to see these two in concert.

    T.... ....

Would have taken at least 4 ......

Nothing short of awesome. Sheer brilliance by Clapton and Winwood.

  48. H.... K....

What a great performance by two amazing artists! If only Mark Knopfler were present at that stage too.

    H.... K....

Hell yeah. He brings so much presence

  49. j.... h....

This song was written in the 70's when long term relationships were the ideal all aspired to........Today it's  " Let me be your throw-away man " !!!!!!

    j.... h....

    1985 my friend

    j.... h....

Forever Man was written in 1984 for the 1985 album "Behind The Sun."

    j.... h....

indeed, but you gotta admit Clapton was a fuckboy

  50. j.... h....

Oh Yeah;.......Another one of the greatest moments in music;......These two guys together are like butter on hot cereal......Bring back music classes in school and show this performance so the kids can see some real musicians .

  51. T.... T....

Eric Clapton + Steve Winwood = Best Duo Ever To Perform Together! This concert was fucking awesome in every sense of the word. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

  52. L.... ....

There's just some songs where the lead solo just needs to be 5X longer.... This is one of em..... Great stuff!

  53. J.... ....

Great combo seeing them togethe again...my only drawback is the pace of this song is to fast. It should of been a little slower, it is as if they wanted to rsuh through it.
Always great. Great upload & post
    Peace 2 ya

  54. f.... ....

I prefer the studio-version which is with the groove of Jeff Porcaro. I love Steve Winwood, but the organ is dominating too much in this performance. So the whole balance is getting lost a bit.

    f.... ....

    that's your opinion.

    f.... ....

Agreed on the keyboard but the Porcaro comment is a little over the top.  Turns out Porcaro laid down the basic drum score and Simon Climie added the electronic percussion to it.  Also, where's the fire in this arrangement - way too fast.

  55. g.... M....

a mi parecer la mejor version que se ha hecho de esa pieza, no se podia esperar menos de esos dos grandes . aplausos

  56. r.... 1....

What a dumb old boring crowd

  57. r.... 1....

What a song, what a lyrics... what a performance!
