Winter, Johnny - The Good Love Lyrics

Have you heard of the good love
Do it and you better not tell, no no
I'd take a thousand trips for the givin' the good love
Woman says she love me
And that she don't understand
Gotta give all you got
To a good loving man
Let me feel you baby
Try to touch my soul, yeah
Got to give me the good love
Give my life and let it be, yeah
You're gonna lose yourself
Out the help of the good love
Baby, say you're groovin'
Come on and groove some with me
Understand your life
That's the way things must be
I don't want to wreck nobody's soul
I just want to rock and roll, yeah, yeah, yeah
Rock and roll, man
It's alright, man
Oh, oh, oh

Winter, Johnny The Good Love Comments
  1. m.... ....

...astory of when she bought the album "Second Winter: which had incidentially 2 vinyls. Well, she smoked some weed and when she went to play the 4th side the needle just "cruised across the record" blowing her mind. Apparently, the album was a 3 sided only release. Ha! She always raved about the track "The Good Love"

  2. S.... C....

    I still have this 3 sided album~!

one of the finest albums ever - and in my humble opinion johnny was the equal of jimi hendrix - a bold statement in know - but thats how i feel

People who argue about who was the best technical guitarist just don't understand it’s not about how good you are technically but what you invented with what you had. Youtube is now overflowing with 12 to 16 year old girls that could probably technically slay, many of the great players of the past but we will wait a very long time for these kids to generate something as original as the likes of Winter/Hendrix/ Page/ Moore/ Allman/ Iommi/ Gallagher/ Knopfler/ Reinhardt/Hooker/ and many more.

Technically I don’t know how good they great players were but that doesn’t matter they all produced something original and different and that's what really counts at the end of the day.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPtDTRxw_94 Will she eventually create new sound or just keep improving her technique? Sometimes a disability works as an advantage, like Iommi and Reinhardt. These kids today maybe have to easy and that's why they have nothing to say.

    I never got why JW didn't think of himself of as a "rocker", just a blues-man..He did R & R so well..Damn.

  27. D.... N....

blumuze2 , You're a friggin idiot he is almost 70, A SENIOR CITIZEN. The average america lives to be age 77, are you ok ? what a critical statement. Johnny Winter is just who he is, Maybe the greatest rock and roll blues star of all times, he has lived carried on while Jim Morrison Janice Jimi checked out at age 27. His come back after rehad album I'm Still Alive and Well 1973 was the best album music he did told to me by Great White Guitarist Mark Kendall. God Bless Johnny Winter, Go Johnny Go.

  28. b.... ....

@blumuze2 saw him a couple of months in a venue similar to those out of which he burst upon the scene. Blind, sits, but still has the licks.

  29. b.... ....

    @FraterSoddi still does

  30. N.... J....

Love this...my soul finds this addicting~ MORE JW!!!!!!!

  31. b.... ....

At 18, Johnny was my idol (along with Hendrix, of course :). I wore a hole in this LP trying to learn his licks. I saw him live at least a half a dozen times in his heyday. He was even more electrifying on stage. Of course, heroin eventually got the better of him. Ruined him, actually. Don't take this the wrong way, but if he'd died back them he'd be a legend now, instead of the third tier small venue nostalgia act he has become. Still love him, though.

  32. c.... g....

I just love the second guitar dubbed into the background, also totaling out on the wah-wah. What a shame this band was taken apart so early.

  33. R.... J....

    One of a kind!Outstanding!

  34. R.... W....

To add to my previous comments, there will never be another Johnny Winter.

  35. R.... W....

It's hard to describe what it was like when Winter opened with this song in the early '70s in a large concert like setting, but it's one of those "you would have to be there" type settings. I can't explain it because I have been to alot of concerts, but if you were there, you know what I mean. You just said Wow, my God" Everyone left speachless.

    R.... W....

those 70s shows were damn amazing

  36. C.... d....

    what an improviser!

  37. C.... d....

love this one one of the great seducers to rock

  38. h.... ....

One of the best blues riffs ever recorded! Way ahead of his time.

  39. S.... D....

    The album had 3 sides...

  40. F.... ....

    so heavy great!

  41. g.... ....

Saw him open with this 1972.
