Winter, Johnny - I'm Yours And I'm Hers Lyrics

I'm Yours And I'm Hers
You know I'm yours and I'm hers
Somebody else's too, oh yeah

You know I'm yours and I'm hers
Somebody else's too

You know I'm two-times seven mamas, ah
Do just what I wanna do
Let me, baby, let me squeeze her
Well man, I'm lost uptown
Let me, let me squeeze her

Well man, I'm lost uptown
(I wanna squeeze my baby)
'Cause you know I'm a stranger
I wanna know what's going down
Want to take you with me

Want you-all to understand
Ah, this mama, gonna tell ya, mama
Want you-all to understand
You know I can love you, mama
Better than your steady man

Winter, Johnny I'm Yours And I'm Hers Comments
  1. g.... s....

whos the 15 people who need their hearing checked?

  2. W.... B....

I think you'll find Brian Jones favorite songs were the blues dudes from America, particularly CHUCK BERRY and JIMMY REED.

  3. J.... U....

I loved this song when it came out in 1969, and now in 2019 - 50 years later, it's still an awesome song that is timeless.

Mick and Keith brought Johnny over to the UK and had him audition to replace Brian Jones, shortly after they gave Brian that disastrous dog paddle swimming lesson...oops. Johnny absolutely terrified the Glimmer Twins- first thing he does is whip out his old wrinkled up monkey paw hoodoo from his back pocket, and tells the boys how he came to procure this gris gris from a Gypsy woman down in N'awlins. Keith breaks out the pharmaceutical heroin and sniffs up a tiny bump, then offers Johnny a rail. No thanks Keef he replies, I brought my own from home. Out comes a garbage bag full of yellowish N.Y. street smack, a devilish concoction of china white, mexican tar, amphetamine, benzine, finely crushed glass and baby laxative to add volume. JW proceeds to cook up a soup ladle full, fills up a horse syringe, and squeezes that plunger down into a large blue vein of his erect penis! Now he's ready to jam. Let's do "All Over Now" stammers Mick. Johnny then blows them away with his supersonic version. Blimey, says Keith, there's no fookin way I can keep oop with tha. Let's slow down a bit and try Joomping Jack Flash, so Johnny assaults them with his version from the And Live album. "Bloody Ell Mick" cries Keith, our versions sound like shyte compared to his. The next day the Stones played a free concert in Hyde Park where Mick read out a tribute to Brian, then started off their set with Johnny's song "I'm yours and I'm hers". Johnny was supposed to come on stage for the second verse, but they butchered the start into cacophony so badly, that he unplugged his Firebird and said he was heading back to Texas, Rick Derringer was calling. Back at the hotel, he shagged the Stones' women, Maryann Faithfull, Anita Pallenberg, Bianca Jagger, Jerry Hall and then a quicky with Yoko Ono for good measure, stole all of their jewelry, then caught the Concorde back home.

  6. S.... M....

My favorite Johnny Winter song. This one goes so hard

  7. S.... W....

Had it the bright orange 8-track in 70. Still Badass to this day!!!

THE ONE AND ONLY, J.WINTER, GUITAR SLINGER TEXAS BLUES,SRV,FREDDY KING, GUITAR SLIM,LONNIE MACK,THEY MADE PLAYING THE GUITAR A MUST .

  10. a.... ....

Fortunately, it wasn't ripped off by Led Zepp, er... yeah. Even so, I'll always worship Led Zep. At least the Stones paid homage to Johnny in their tribute to Brian Jones.

Boring story for ya: First time I heard Traveling Riverside Blues I was a kid in summer camp. The local classic rock station was blaring on the loudspeakers. I stopped in my tracks and just listened. Mind you, I played classical music at the time. I was overtaken with goosebumps and emotions.

It took me about 30 some odd years to figure out the name of the bloody song, since we had no Interwebz.

  11. 2.... ....

    great guitar work on this!

  12. T.... C....

    The greatest ........

  13. 3.... P....

    aggressively progressive blues.

  14. V.... B....

    Brian Jones's favorite song.

    V.... B....

    Most probabilitie*

    V.... B....

Thanks for this. Didn't know why they played it for him until you came along.

    V.... B....

    Vlad Batranu 😭❤️💔

  15. J.... M....

kind of reminds me of led zeppelin.

    J.... M....

Jesse Merkelson led zeppelin has travelling riverside blues which uses the exact same riff as this

    J.... M....

    Johnny used it first.

  16. O.... L....

    This is HARDDDD.

  17. A.... F....

    travelling riverside blues

    A.... F....

You mean a British rip off of Johnny

    A.... F....

Skynyrd used JW's riff from "Prodigal Son" on their "Needle and the Spoon".

    A.... F....

I thought that too! So close eh? I knew page couldn't completely think up ALL those cool riffs

    A.... F....

Flynn Mercer No. The one by the BLACK MUSICIANS THEY ALL RIPPED IT OFF FROM.

  18. m.... d....

Never heard of this man, good time to check it out. It very much sounds like Led Zeppelin's take on 'Travelling riverside blues', up to the point where it might hardly be coincidental. Anybody happen to know more ?

    m.... d....

Never heard of what is considered to be one of the best slide guitarist of all time...??? Do some research....its worth it.

    m.... d....

He was in a class by himself

    m.... d....

Thanks guys. sure checked him out good. got a few bootlegs and CDs, love playing along as well. cheers

    m.... d....

They both probably ripped it off of some older blues player and made it their own

    m.... d....

That's probably why Led Zeppelin released TRB it as an outtake

  19. G.... H....

Not his first but his first major label album with Columbia Records. No one sounded like him. He was such a unique and a fresh authentic blues sound. Released in 1968 if my memory is correct.

    G.... H....

  20. K.... ....

    Is this Brian's favourite?

    K.... ....

    +Kelly14UK was, yes

    K.... ....

Your comment doubled. Mine have been doing that. YTs a mess now.

    K.... ....

    It should be, it's great.

  21. K.... ....

    Is this Brian's favourite?

    K.... ....

+Kelly14UK Possibly gives you an indication where Brian Jones may have gone in his music away from Mick and Keef. Not to be .

    K.... ....

I don't understand him. He tires of the guitar ( he was rhytmn or lead), starts mucking around with exotic instruments, around '65 or '66, then in '69, starts getting back into the guitar as he had projects in mind. @John Lane

  22. A.... D....

    brilliant

  30. s.... ....

  31. m.... ....

  47. J.... I....

johnny is magnificent, but honestly I prefer stones version in hyde park, is more raw

    J.... I....

    not raw, its shitty

    J.... I....

If by raw you mean inept, unrehearsed and terribly embarrassing then yes... By all means RAW.

  53. w.... ....

    Most overrated song in 1969!

  54. S.... M....

Disagree. Stones' version is infinitely better.

    S.... M....

    Sullen Morbius
Do you also prefer hotdogs over steak?? Draft beer over aged wine??

    GREAT TRACK!!! Guitars, guitars, guitars...AWESOME!

  57. c.... ....

Classic love story depicting the duality of a man's love. I dig it, as told by not only the lyrics, listen to the duality of the guitar spoken language of blues, HEART & SOUL of the Man, 'JOHNNY WINTER"

  58. F.... L....

    Celebration Day of Led Zeppelin!

  59. c.... t....

u goyt that right what a voice when he sings with edgar i wanna die its that good

  60. C.... M....

Play this full blast Driving in your car

  61. s.... d....

of course ya gotta dig this tune, but my favorite from this rkkid is 'be careful with a fool', a reworked 12 bar blues hyper kinetic riffing version of the blues boy king song.

  62. s.... d....

the stones opened with this tune at their free concert at hyde park in 69', 2 days after brian jones' death, in a tibute to him as it was one of his favorite songs. the stones also wrote 'silver train' for johnny and recorded it themselves.

  63. M.... A....

    i am too :)

  64. E.... ....

    same ice:D

  65. A.... R....

and everybody knowa that The r.Stones did covers better than original....(Queen Bee, Carol, ect....thx to them many hyding sound was out!!!! ---that Jonhy Winter should rhnaks them for it!!!!- the 1st time i listen that was in 68, B4 Hyde park in Olimpic Studio-Paris, and....Brian...OMG!!! .what a musicien!! . but I respect your taste...

  66. A.... C....

Led Zeppelin - Traveling Riverside Blues...hmm..wonder who they stole that from?

    A.... C....

    Perskij Ericson
Check out Johnnys "Prodigal son" then go listen to Lynyrd Skynyrds "Needle and the Spoon" that was recorded 5-7 yrs later.

  67. N.... ....

  68. A.... R....

@JartBansen I like what I like; you should try open your fucking mind...

  69. B.... J....

@MrMelodynelson get your facts straight man...

  70. F.... M....

I LOVE this . I still have the Vinyl So raw . Very gutsy and nasty. Best shit.

  71. W.... C....

This was the first song ever to be recorded "in two" I dont know really what that means but I guess its some sort of overdubbing. I bought this record in 69 and saw Johnny play in Club Denim, Guelph, Ontario in 1998 - stood at his feet and the blues were the best I have ever heard!!

  72. D.... H....

@MrMelodynelson The Rolling Stones' live version was played in tribute to Brian Jones. At the time of Brian's death this tune was one of his favorites. The Stone's version is a very slightly rehearsed cover of this JW original.

  73. k.... ....

    I'm yours. And I'm hers.

  74. k.... ....

This is my kinda shit. Johnny Winter, what a fantastic blues musician.

  75. A.... R....

very better in a ROLLING STONES version...this seems to be a bad cover from the Stones...wired..

  76. s.... ....

    johnny. badass.

  77. W.... ....

@spacepatrolman Thanks! There is also a very good live version of the Stones (July 5th 1969) in a concert for Brian Jones (died on July 3rd).

  78. W.... ....

I enjoy blues but i'm not an expert so, somebody knows how is that this song has the same guitar riff than Zeppelin's "Traveling Riverside Blues". Does Zepp covers Johhny but changing the song's name? (The same happens with the classic Killing Floor (Zepelin's Lemon Song). Are both old blues classics covered by Johnny and Zepp? Best Regards from Argentina!

    W.... ....

    WilliamBoo
    Johnny did it first.

  79. A.... N....

  82. N.... ....

    Stones should've studio'd this.

  83. R.... ....

Brian Jones liked this song. The Stones played a cover for him 2 days after his death. This is a good song.

  84. H.... ....

The Ist track I'd heard by Johnny and been hooked ever since.
    the man's a genius, Mr.Blues.

  85. r.... ....
