Winter, Johnny - Honest I Do Lyrics

You know that I love you
Honest I do
I never ever place
No one above you

You told me you need me
Stop drivin' me wild
You're my little love, babe
You're my angel child

Please tell me you love me
Stop drivin' me mad
You're the sweetest little woman
That I ever had

I to1d you I love you
Honest I do
I never ever place
No one above you

Please tell me you love me
Stop drivin' me mad
When I woke up this mornin'
Never felt so bad

I believe this song was written Jimmy Reed and put out in 1957. I would bet that Little Richard poached the sound and recorded Send Me Some Lovin' the same year.

  32. D.... W....

The late, great, Pat Ramsey, played harp on this 1978 JW release, "White, Hot, and Blue". He left this world on Nov. 17th, 2008. Rest in peace, brother. And thanks for posting this cut.

  33. r.... ....

Paris came along a little later...Great musician!

  34. A.... D....

Yes he was a really good man. We shared a love of music. We would sit for hours listening to his albums and learning them on his guitar.

  35. s.... d....

sounds good. your uncle seems like he was a cool guy. like uncle's ought to be...

  36. A.... D....

I've never really thought about selling any. I've had them for 5years now and they've been in every home I've lived in. We've just recently moved, and this is the first time since I've had them that I've been through them all. They all seem to be in very good condition. The covers look brand new. I might look into it and you never know, some may go up for sale.

  37. s.... d....

that's a huge amount of records. i would look into setting up a temporary store or get a table at a flea market, do some heavy advertising and make some bucks. vinyl's are in demand and if you have some old good blues and rock lp's in decent shape, you could get a lot of money if you could keep your overhead low. unless of course they have setimental value and you don't want to give 'em up.

  38. A.... D....

Yes who would've thought aye! My nephew was here while I was listening to it, and he was like "Wow who's this playing". Then he picked up the cover and said "Wow I wasn't even thought of when this came out". He thought it was some new band he'd never heard of before. We actually went through the whole collection (2,500 vinyl LP's) and found more Johnny Winter albums. It's like an archive of Blues, Rock, & Soul. 1st time I've ever sat down and went through it. That's Uncle ♥

  39. s.... d....

hard to believe it's from the 70's, huh? it's got a timeless production value to it. it never sounds dated. and that band is amazing, particularly the harp and drums. i like recordings that you can't pin a certain time period to. some music just sounds dated and married to an era. i was listening to dylan's 'bringing it all back home' and 'highway 61 revisited' albums the other day. they don't sound as old as '65! beatles ans beach boys records are that way too......rock on...

  40. A.... D....

Just found my late uncle's copy of this album (vinyl), and I've been playing it for the last 3 hours.

    A.... D....

@AD - Reading your uncle had this authentically beautiful album I miss the guy myself. Peace to him & of course JDWIII too.

  41. s.... d....

such great phrasing from john. just listen to that clean, cool picking @3:42. one thing about his records: he always brought a new lick or phrase onto the recording. his albums all have moments of sheer greatness.

    s.... d....

    Right on.

  42. s.... d....

yeah, there were about 6 really great tunes on that one. 'walkin' by myself', 'last night', 'messin' with the kid', divin' duck', etc.

  43. A.... D....

Yes I remember that album, "One Step At A Time" is another song from that album that I liked :)

  44. s.... d....

it never made it to cd. the pencil pushers at columbia deleted the lp a long while back. they ain't got no soul, man!

    s.... d....

Yes it did , pretty easy to find too ;-)
    RÉPONDRE

  45. s.... d....

it was pat ramsey on harp. from the 78' album 'white, hot & blue'. sadly, columbia records in it's infinate wisdom has deleted it.

  46. s.... d....

    pat ramsey, actually.

  47. m.... ....

    Now that's rad right there.

  48. D.... M....

I think it is John Paris who plays the harmonica

  49. P.... ....

First sound from this i ???? Johnny Winter? ???? melted down by the harmonica. It is the best harmonies i ever heard! Ho play the harmonica on this tune?

  50. K.... P....
