Winter, Johnny - Guess I'll Go Away Lyrics
Hey,
Can't stop thinking about you
Wondering why you're not around
Can't keep doing without you
Pack my things and leave this town
Can't keep doing without you
Getting tired, not feeling better
Ain't got time to show you
Girl, how well I know you
I guess I'll go away
Hey, hey, hey
Time passes, I want you more
Time to jump upon you
Darling what are you wating for
Can't keep waiting on you
I'm gonna jump upon you
Getting time for revolution
Hey!
Ain't got time for playing
Just like I've been saying
I guess I'll go away
Hey!
Ain't gonna put me through it
I don't have to live this way
You can't hold me to it
Gonna make my get away
Ain't gonna put me through it
You can't hold me to it
Can't get no satisfaction
Everything you're doing
Drivin' me to ruin
I guess I'll go away
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

You sir, nail it everyday, every time. Over and over....wow.
Some of his shit really hits you there.
this was jr colledge
johnny got into drugs no good.
their show opener after Allman bros warm up. the crowd stunned out of their senses. EPIC.
The fact that Rolling Stone Magazine has Johnny at #63 on the top 100 guitarists of all-time says more about the qualifications of whoever did the ranking than it does about Johnny's ability to play the guitar. Look at some of the people that they have ranked higher than Johnny if you don't believe me. It's a joke. Johnny should be in the top 5, or at least the top 10.
You said it Spliff....Rolling Shit reviewers or their selection committee take it up the ass. No Rory Gallagher, either....easily in the 'none better' category with Hendrix.
many equals..though none better..
Actually he is number 1
Yep. Even Ritchie Blackmore, a guitar god and one of rock's biggest sourpusses (he doesnt rate SRV or Pete Townsend), said Johnny Winter is the best blues guitarist
spliff, neil young at #17.He`s really known more for song writing than guitar playing.
I saw Johnny and Rick at the Spectrum in Phillie in college. Great show one of my favorite concerts!
Great duo Johnny and Rick. I also was on line to get this album
Remember where and when I bought this brilliant album.
Johnny Winter with Rick Derringer was like Neil Young with Crazy Horse -- the nuts. Though Winter and Young remained great, w/o Derringer and Crazy Horse, respectively, their music dropped a couple of notches. The same could be said about Steve Miller with Boz Scaggs.

Nobody ever put cool funky and heavy into one ball of wax like winter's I guess I'll go away. This tune has so much tone.
I Guess I'll go away!!!! He he hey
45 years later this album still kicks. Not to diminish JW's skills as he will always be one of the best, but taking on Derringer as a songwriting partner pushed this group up to the next level...and beyond. Some great material from this foursome....wow!
they just came out slamming! this band should have been an arena band. sadly it was short lived.
RIP Johnny
667 got something to say?..what can we think about Matthew Shepherd out there between two fench-post geetiin killed cause he was a man??????
Sounds like Rock and Roll hootchie koo is a total knock off of JOHNNY's MUSIC..
Wow, you've seen some great shows! I'm in the U.S.
@sasxo76 Actually, Derringer is part of the "...And" of this group, and wrote it, Still Alive and Well is actually a Derringer penned tune also. They were a great team.
Awesome Is Derringer an OHIO Native? Was he in Montrose too?
@Nate Shultz Hey, thanks for the info. I thought RD was an understudy of Johnny Winter, but it sounds like he was more of a contemporary. Didn't know he was part of 'And', which I though was only the album title. I'm embarrassed I didn't know more about it since Johnny was such a legend.
+Mitchell Wallace Montrose was a Bay Area-California-band. Rick had been in the McCoys, who had a mid sixties hit, Hang On Sloopy, a remake of R n B tune, My Girl Sloopy...
I guess I'll go away!!!...:)O(:..
RIP Johnny. he was a great guitarist
R.I.P. Johnny, one of the very greatest white Blues Men and Guitar Heroes ever!
brilliant playing - we will miss you R.I.P. JOHNNY
Saw him in Worcester, Ma. on this tour. He opened with this tune. It still knocks me out. RIP Johnny
RIP Johnny...
I am coming home by helicopter
i wish Exxon/Mobil would go away. world poisoning pricks.
A great song on an even greater album.... Johnny Winter at his best!!
Great stuff
"And" Live= Best Album Ever!!!!
this + war pigs (black sabbath) = tribute to johnny (smashing pumpkins)
U GOT THAT RIGHT WHAT A GREAT UNDERATED RECORD!
Bad ASS!
60s 70s and 80s that's when all the great music was written, not these days its all srap
LOVE this wild early 70s fuzz rockin music, totally kicks ass!!!:D Brilliant song!!!:D
LIKE!!!
whole album is great
It was a magic time when these guys were playing together.
And is it only me, or is this cover something special too ? In all its simplicity.
@Nielsanderspoulsen Music with the kick of a piledriver
@AngryHatter Thanks , still got it on vynil
@tallnotmuchhair Nice turn of a phrase. Write a song, dude.
used to skip school in worcester,ma.and play this lp til the grooves disappeared.tell me, could you upload 'look up' or out on the limb'? hate to say it but i liked the rick songs better.
believe Derringer plated in 2 of Johnnys LPs. Titled: Johnny Winter And & Jonny Winter And Live.
Agree.. Johnny Winter And is one of the greatest rock albums ever. Johnny and Rick was very tight, and I am also impressed that Rick, who could play ass out of trousers of most guitarists, playes so well rythm with Johnny.
Makes me want to punch the sky
Incredibly soulful. I knew so when I was very young. Still love it and still have the album. Thank you for posting
sho' 'nuff rock and roll, baby.
Played the shit out of this Lp back in 1970...Wore out 3 copies especially on this track and' Nothing Left/ 'Funky Music'.
Unbelievably intense blues rock guitar done at a relentless level.
The band takes NO prisoners.
We'll never hear music like this again nor repeat the era.
johnny was my god in the 70s
THANKS.
one of the greatest R&R albums of all time
Whoah! Awesome! Thanks for posting this gem! One of my fav albums!!!
