Saw this in tv, his special I think. LOVED the song, b side to my love. Love his vocal echoes, the song gets down. I was in high school and the style of the song, the dancing and what folks wearing REALLY brings back early seventies.
Great version here of this song...just heard another version and this way surpasses and the rocking got the gals and the dude up dancing.... I saw this on tv then on JPM in 73 and could see that in live performance abilities he was beginning to rock past other solo band members despite much scathing critic and Beatles fan putdowns then.
I had this on the B side of the My Love 45. I also remember watching the James Paul McCartney special as it aired. I didn't notice the audience overdubbed hand clapping 40 something years ago. But hey, didn't care then and I don't care now. Great rockin', great memories!

This isn’t the performance on the b-side of ‘My Love’ and that one doesn’t appear on the new version of Red Rose Speedway either. I’ve still got my original 45 from 45 years ago but the arm on my current deck lifts before the end of the song., which is slightly annoying. It’s a really good version but I can’t find it anywhere online. Odd.
