My memory of this tune is that it served so beautifully as a dance track for the strippers and amateur night performers that disrobed at an emporium of modern dance that operated in Lincolnshire, IL just off Milwaukee Ave. in north suburban Chicago in the mid 1970's. Great music and great dancers and a great maturation period in a young American male's life.

This was one of the first 45s I bought. Just a great boogie! I don't even use the word boogie. This radiates a litte Mungo Jerry, Rolling Stones, great bass, Help! era McCartney overdubbed lead licks. Really a great single for the year 1972 - like a hint at what was to come in 1973. Band on the Run was easily McCartney's best solo/Wings Trio album. Wings actually was a trio depending on how you look at it.

Poor Paul. He could release the greatest song ever recorded and it would be quickly forgotten. But if he put out a total piece ... of ... you know, something like "Silly Love Songs" or "Ebony and Ivory", radio stations played it until the needle came through on the other side. Then they'd accuse him of being too commercial. When he's gone, he should be remembered by songs like this, "Let Me Roll it" and "Too Many People".

What a great freakin song. He played this the other night during his encore at the Wells Fargo in Philly. Im so glad I got to be there, in the presence of Sir Paul fucking McCartney, for such an incredible show. He even played Mr. Kite AND Temporary Secretary haha, and Live and Let Die kicked so much ass it was ridiculous. It was the closest I'll ever get to a Beatles concert, and Sir Paul delivered like a motherfucker

How about a little less profanity....we get the general notion that you enjoyed the show.  There is enough hostility, hatred, animus, and life/death threats afforded digital media, fake news outlets, and the Leftists who want to end the country and run what is left.  They seem intent on starting the next Civil War, just as they did 150 years ago.

This could be the BEST Wings release.  References to  "...a bootleg in my hand ..."  and a "...Montego Band..." (not multi-colored) take me back to the early '70's.  Paul rocking ala  "USSR" with those three other guys he played with.

Great tune, instrumentals (especially guitar), and beat, loved it from the first time I heard it back in 72. In the day, the lyrics were trendy and 'cool'. Have always been, and still am, a fan of the 'Fab Four'. 
Understand that rock and roll sells on 'sex and drugs'. Business is business. However business can, and should, also be ethical , as it should be in other disciplines.
 Now, a father of two grown children, and remembering the battles fought mainly influenced by media, I wonder if such a great song, and many others, should have ever been released. Was this the message our icons of rock should have fomented in their day? Has this message encouraged our kids, society, to better and higher ideals? The writers of this, and other rock lyrics, will have to weigh this against the dollars made when they meet their maker. Did all that personal wealth lead society to a higher level?
Paul, (Sir), will you leave this earth, and our youth,  after all your influence, a better place?

His music has comforted millions I dont think a couple of songs with pot references does any harm. His like the only rockstar to actually raise a family on the first try. "Sweet Banana" - is this line a shout out to the RAR (Rhodesian African Rifles), whose regimental song was "Sweet Banana"? I realize it could just be either nonsense lyric, or a sexual innuendo, but I wonder if there is a Rhodesian connection?
