Wilson Pickett - Hey Jude Lyrics
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin
Then you begin to make it better
And any time you feel the pain
Hey Jude, refrain
Don't carry the world upon your shoulder
For well you know that it's a fool
Who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder
na-na-naa naaa
Hey Jude, don't let me down
You have found her, now go and get her
(Let it out and let it in)
Remember (hey Jude) to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better
So let it out and let it in
Hey Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you
Hey Jude, you'll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder
Na na na naa-naa
na-na-naa naaa
Yeah

HEYYYY JUDe on't let me down ... hen you can start ... someone ... sad song ... to make it better ... AHHHHH AHHH AaaaaaaAAAaaaaa Ah jud ahh ahh ahh ahh ahaaaaa aaAHHHH
This guy is something else I was young when he was alive the only song I ever listened to back then was mustang sally what a power house
And this is where Southern Rock comes from. All of it. That one solo. This was the moment.
He had such a great voice, and with Duanne!
2.26 to 2.40 for the high notes - then the break from 3.00
Duane's vibe is untouchable
Thanks.
Love it.
Wilson could sing!
100% Excellent!!!
Where was the internet when I was told I was bullshitten friends about Duane all mon on playing tracks on this song back when I read it in rolling stone magazine back in 1976 ya where are those so called friends now damn is duanes playing so powerful
Awesome
I can't bring myself to say that this is better than the original because it's such an iconic classic... but god damn this is it's equal! this bluesy/soul version just hit me.. superb
Hell yeah!
Rock on Rock on
Wilson’s voice is great, but as is the case with most covers, IMHO, the original is better (there are exceptions, e.g., Sorrow cover by Bowie or You Can’t Hurry Love cover by Collins).
Holy shit! Absolutely fucking phenomenal!!!!!
Weird, I never saw this combo! I've seen Duane and Clapton playing Mean Old World acoustic and they did some instrumental jams on the Layla album Deluxe Edition or Derrick and the Dominos Deluxe or something along those lines. Very good stuff. I wish Duane would've stuck around. The Allman Brothers Band had great stuff when he was alive.
I think that this recording was done after the Allmans were established. The Allmans went back a long ways, especially around thhe I75 corridor between Atlanta,MAcon and Gainesville Fl.
No, this was before the ABB was a band - somewhere around '68 I believe, but definitely before Duane pulled together what became The Allman Brothers Band.
Who needed the Allman Brothers, these two outkast would have been just fine.
Wilson Pickett was the Man, such soul and vocal talent. I only wish he would have sung with the Allman Brothers Band in 1971 when they were at their peak. I never tire of listening to ABB Live at the Fillmore East.
His voice comes soon in the heart like a bomb ! Listen this yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Did you know........
The Beatles are the most covered band (on other artist records) ever.
True story.
"Take a sad song and make it better"
Never was a true word sung....
So much better than the Fab? Four!
Pickett did NOT want to record this song. Duane Allman talked him into it.
i always loved this version.
Love the whole thing, but at around 2:40 I get goosebumps every time.
Scream from Pickett. Horns from the Swampers. Then the incredible guitar solo by Allman. A perfect combination.
Duane Allman Too Young To Say Goodbye his idea for Otis to do this song
Loved both these guys! So much talent, gone way too soon!
Boquiabierto me ha dejado
Happy birthday
Muscle Shoals baby!
I believe it was Wilson who gave Duane the name Skydog
0:02:43 The birth of Southern Rock
The Allman Brothers, what other band came close !
Skydog ruled. damn I miss those brothers.
The birth of Southern Rock!
Awesome Voice
This arrangement was so powerful it brought me to tears hit straight in my heart.
Hey Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better
Hey Jude, don't be afraid
You were made, made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin
Then you begin to make it better
Any time you feel the pain
Hey Jude, refrain
Don't carry the world upon your shoulder
For you know that it's a fool
Who plays the cool
By making his world a little bit colder
Hey Jude, don't let me down
You have found her, now go on out and get her
But remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better
So let it out and let it in
Hey Jude, begin

Hey Jude, you'll do
The movements you need is on your shoulder
Hey, Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song
Make it better
Just remember to let her under your skin
Then you begin
To make it better
Whoa!
Hey Jude!
Yeah!
It's gonna be alright...
dreamy so good
The Wicked Pickett...DAMN!!!
Saw the Muscle Shoals documentary and on a trip to Gulf Shores decided to take a little side trip off the highway to Rave studios. It was really cool and who should walk in while there? Rick Hall. We got to chat with him a bit and he seemed very relaxed about how it all went down. Wilson Pickett and Duane Allman had a big influence on the success of the studio, along with local guys that referred to themselves as The Swampers.
RIP Skydog
As a diehard Beatles fan, I like this cover more.
Folks this is how it's done....😁
REMEMBER DUANE ALLMAN carved into mud embankment west bound I-20 between Jackson and Vicksburg MS.
Haven't been that way in decades. Hope it's still there.
Thanks for sharing
Un brivido lungo 4.03 minuti
Oh Duane! Skydog! He also gently told Pickett that the song was not “Hey Jew.” True story
This was done at the suggestion of the session the session guitarist, "Skydog" Duane Allman. Wilson Pickett thought the lyric was "Hey Jew", prior to recording it....
Thanks to Muscle Shoals
Wow wow
Wow! Badass real music!
one of my childhood memories is Wilson Pickett singing MiniSkirt Mini...or something like that...lol...it was so much fun...I was 12....
Wicked like Wilson Pickett. Wish this was longer :)
Life saving music. Whitout music like this many of us would have checked out. Remember it's ok to not be ok. Just got to keep on rocking. WSMFP.
At first Wilson didn't want to do the song because he thought it was Hey Jew. lol
Perfect.
An incredible moment in music history combining the voice of Wilson Pickett, guitar work of Duane Allman. It's unfortunate that whoever was at the recording console was not watching the record levels and severely distorted Wilson's voice.
WILSON PICKETT HEY JUDE HQ 1080p klara
Stuffed up a good song 😎✌️
Not really, as the other version is still here. It's just different. The Beatles version is one of my favourite songs ever by the way, but Pickett has a voice and then some.
@youanchor screaming soul singer can't get much worse, soul what is soul the American Anthem, have you seen the Simpson's version that just about sez it all. Close your eyes and scream. 😎✌️
@Hollis Brown Well, it's a good job that we all have different tastes and different ideas of what makes a good voice then... or we'd all be listening to Hollis Brown ;-)
@youanchor true, true opinion is good old son, no P C in my world. 😎✌️
Best version of this song. I heard some band called the Beatles covered it but their version has no soul at all
Generally don't like Beatles covers, but this one I like a lot. Wished the guitar was turned a little more.
Overdriven vocal preamp (possibly not intentional but when the sing got going you can’t back them off because it was probably a stepped attenuators) and Duanes guitar sounds like it’s plugged into the board and clean as. Reverse to what you’d expect.
Duane Allman's solo is amazing!
Nice touch of soul to this song.
I wonder what McCartney & Lennon thought of this rendition of their song.
Amazingly great music .. I feel sorry for young people now days .. I personally will never let this music die ..
Life bumps play it cool. Hhaaaahhhh
I ❤️ this!!!!
I guess this is why they wrote it. Poor George Martin.
I haven’t heard this version but I LOVE it!!!!
Duene said how bout hey jude.wilson said no.by the time duane was done playing itit became one for the record.
what about everything in this music?
How did I only find this song in 2019. Duane Allman's guitar mixed with this voice is perfect. So much emotion in his voice it's glorious
Don't know what all the fuss is about....
24 😇
Duane Allman a genius guitarist & a naturally gifted voice of Wilson Pickett lifts you up to the high heavens
The birth of southern rock right here.
Muscle Shoals is so Proud of The Music that was born there this is just one of many examples of the Supernatural Sounds That Flow Down the Singing River And Through The Shoals Area in
North West Alabama
To think the session musicians were a bunch of white boys
I love the way it starts out with a Jimmy Rodgers train song feel from the old South, moving slowly along. It begins to pick up a little steam and then the horns kick in and then the heavy blast from the sax thundering in! Roger keeping the groove moving and Duane and the Wicked Won go nuts!!!
Rest in peace Jimmy Johnson. God bless the Swampers.

Muscle Shoals rules
Wilson would be a whole lot better if he put more emotion into his singing, but he's still pretty good this way. ~ Said no one ever.
2019
Nothing against the Beatles...but this is soulful!
WILSON PICKETT, A STARS STAR, MISS HIS TALENT, SO MUCH.
All you gotta do is listen to this song and you'll understand why back in his day we called him The Wicked Pickett. Dude's voice is awesomely wicked and he makes any song he covers awesomely wicked! He does a wicked "Hey Joe" too! RIP Wilson "Wicked" Pickett and Duane "Skydog" Allman! You two left a masterpiece of a song behind for us to enjoy over and over and over again!
That is a very fat beat.
Never mind goosebumps I think my heart stopped and restarted after the song ended it’s that great
SKYDOG 18 YRS OLD DAMN HE'LL DO IT YOU EVERY TIME
I'm testifying that Wilson Pickett can testify. The Man understood the song, sang it out to us waiting for the sun's rays to find all faces. All are seeking light. Come on sucker, find me one , just one, person who don't respond to love. (Good goddamn luck too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
shitty cover almost as weak as motley crue helter skelter
That's what YOU get for trying to cover Wilson Pickett, boy.
SKY DOG
That guitar, damn.
Wilson and Duane two of the best of what we humans are , and can be , whatever our vocations and avocations .
Duane and Wilson own this song !!!
WOW 😀
Butter meltin in the sun!!!!!!
Sounds like a mixture of something from Janis Joplin and the theme from Deepthroat Porn movie. Ugh
Just put your Justin beaver pajamas on and go to bed, little boy.
