Wilson, Brian - You Still Believe In Me Lyrics
I know perfectly well
I'm not where I should be
I've been very aware
You've been patient with me
You bring back your love to me
And after all I've done to you
How can it be
You still believe in me
I try hard to be more
What you want me to be
But I can't help how I act
When you're not here with me
I try hard to be strong
But sometimes I fail myself
And after all I've promised you
So faithfully
You still believe in me
I wanna cry...

Wilson, Brian You Still Believe In Me Comments
Beautiful!
What a beautiful man...
i love you so much brian
Brian is all about perfection, and he loved this performance. I also like when he smiles, because it takes me back to The Beach Boys!
Un verdadero genio
Hay 3 reguetoneros que no les.gusto...
Genio Brian !
He still had some falsetto here
No words. Just brilliance. How does a man bare his soul and write this....at only 24?
At 60 he was still singing well. Its sad to see him now though.
@Michael David Yep, I saw him in the fall of 2016 in Hollywood Florida. For the most part he could still sing well. But as you said, he seems to have a huge breathing problem nowadays. It's sad, but fans like me still want to hear his concerts, so he keeps on packing them in.
@Timothy Stroud Fans don't care that he can't sing like he used they just want to see the genius and his band are very tight too. They are the modern day Wrecking Crew.
@Michael David Absolutely!!!!
@Timothy Stroud It will be a sad day when he dies though
@Michael David OMG I will be devastated to say the least!!!
Awesome song, thanks Brian
Bach would be so jealous!
One of the most beautful pieces of music I've ever heard, and such an amazing live performance. This was a great time for Brian :)
Governor Chris Christie sings falsetto
Beautiful...tears in my eyes
Brian has that Odo look from Deep Space 9
Sorry to say but Mr Eichenberger is doing a much better job on this song than Brian.
I have to admit thag he has a great voice but he can't beat Brian's soulful performance. And it is unfair to compare a 60 year old Brian( at this video) with him.
I prefer Brian's voice on this song because of the emotion that he puts into it. Also I can't stand this arrangement that has the instruments covering the voices. In Brian's band's version they don't need instruments to cover the singers.
what's your point?
How can it be?
this is disturbing beatiful.
Pet Sound doesn't have a single "weak" song. The weakest in my opinion might be "Let's Go Away For Awhile" but that's a nice song too.
I completely disagree! Lets Go Away For Awhile is top 3 on the album imo. The only one that isn't amazing is sloop john b which is still a fun tune.
Heeelllllll no that song goes hard.
@Wiley Wallaby what are you saying Sloop John B is freakin amazing
@Justin Puga no accounting for taste I suppose, sloop john b and wouldnt it be nice are probably the weakest imo.
brian i hope you'll read this message some day in you your Life...or i like to think that you could read it...i am italian...i always enjoyed the music of beach boys...and when i saw "love and mercy"...assa a italiano

I was really impressed of emotions and empathy I felt for you and for your soul .... and the music is the language and the voice of sent really good vibrations!!good luck
One of the best songs ever written.
+Jim Falbo Indeed
Seriously its beautiful.
i love when he smiles
Brian in this live recording sounds so much more emotional in singing this. It is almost like his voice is cracking or quivering which could just be the drugs or age, but I prefer it to the Beach Boys versions. Also, the choral part at the end is some of the best harmony I have heard on any song ever!
His voice at 24 was pretty special. This is special too but for different reasons.
Right, love and mercy...
Did I just really find Brian's channel? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? I can't believe I never found this!!!! THE BB HITS, SMiLE, PET SOUNDS! Greatest ever!!
PET SOUNDS BLEW my heart and mind wide open and smashed everything I thought I knew!
Wow wow wow I found Brian! Thanks for letting me subscribe sir!!! You are the best. Steven
Yup. Still watching... 5 weeks straight. Wow it's like when I got the pet sounds boxed set and my brain fell off. That was 1999. I still can't get over it. Found it used at CD Alley downtown Wilmington NC. It rearranged everything I thought I knew about music. Hell I think I drooled for a few hours. I never listened to the Beatles again after that day.
@Steven King
There's something about Brian's work that is more genuine and heartfelt than anything the Beatles ever did.
Love u Brian
@Kristian: Jeff is a lot thinner now! He looks great!
Brian does a real nice job with this one. Thanks for posting this.
i may be rude, but: jeffzilla
A hymn of perfect contrition to either the mortal or the Divine. Isn't it a treat to see Brian smile!
Sweet! Great as ever, Brian!
Sounds as good now as it did when I first heard this in '66!
Beautiful. Thank you for this, Brian.... one of my favorites.
Great!!
CLASSIC
Brian, you are and will always be, simply the best!
