Willie´s nasal silky voice has aged to the most beautiful warm tone.
Merle´s vocal chords (and set of teeth) didn´t get such fair treatment by the years... but he was the better singer of the two in his younger days.

I've heard the Bob Dylan version,and i cannot put down a master of the pen.but some songs come to the writers justice when another ingredient is added.The Steve Young is exceptional and also this version.maybe melancholy because they are 40 yrs my heroes.but i think Bob said you did a good job.god bless you Merle haggard you left a mighty footprint on many hearts.Also god bless Steve young and we hope and pray we can keep Willie goin'.
