Williams, Paul - Where Do I Go From Here Lyrics

If I knew the way I'd go back home
But the countryside has changed so much
I'd surely end up lost
Half remembering names and faces
So far in the past
On the other side of bridges that were burned once they were crossed

Tell me where
Where does a fool go
When there's none left to listen
To a story without meaning
That nobody wants to hear
Tell me where
Where does a fool go
When he knows there's something missing
Tell me where
Where do I go from here
Where do I go from here

To get back home
Where my childhood dreams and wishes still out number my regrets
Get back to a place where I can figure on the odds
Have a fighting chance to lose the blues
And win my share of bets

Tell me where
Where does a fool go
When there's none left to listen
To a story without meaning
That nobody wants to hear
Tell me where
Where does a fool go
When he knows there's something missing
Tell me where
Where do I go from here
Where do I go from here

Great film, in my top ten, love this tune as well from Paul Williams the original Mini-Me.

  5. T.... O....

Every American should travel across the country just to see the beauty of it before it's totally gone.

  6. S.... P....

Nicely done. Great editing. I thought it would just be the song with end credits. Watching that car drive down the road and over the hill, wondering what the Thunderbolt would do next. How to honor his friend and then keep on living. Great film. I love this one.

  7. M.... ....

    Best film ever 👍🏽

I wish I knew how to get back home.

In the early 80s,dad taped this from the TV and we watched it like every month. Nice how this video has them smiling at the end, obviously a tragic ending for the film though. Classic film, Classic song and Classic video tribute 👍

I have both films on DVD now but the one that gets the most play is definitely this one. This music at the end is now on my mp3 player. RIP George Kennedy.

  86. N.... C....

Casheasy - I am exactly the same age as you and my parents did the same thing at the Southington, CT drive-in. Such amazing memories. I wouldn't think of bringing my 10 year old to see this movie - as amazing as it is - but yet I am so very happy my parents brought me. Were we tougher back then?

Paul Williams is one of the greatest songwriter ever in my opinion - up there with Lennon & McCartney, and Dee Dee Ramone.

Thank you Zerokomma for posting this amazing video and song!!

  87. B.... .....

Fantastic song with such a knowing message about maturing and change.

  88. b.... ....

We saw this at the drive-in too. Our parents always took us to see movies regardless if it was rated R or not. Good Times!

  89. z.... ....

    You're welcome

  90. K.... K....

Always did like this movie. I got to see it when I was 9 at the drive in, since my parents took me to see movies no matter how adult the theme. Great upload here.

  91. M.... R....

What's your name boy? Lightfoot. You Indian? Nope just American.

  92. B.... ....

    great film but sad ending

  93. R.... ....

Every time I hear this song or watch this movie I think of my brother. I remember he taped this movie off of WGN and we'd watch it alot. He really liked this song off the end of it. R.I.P. James
