Williams, Paul - Here's Another Fine Mess Lyrics
Here's another fine mess I'm into honey
A little bit sad, it's a little bit funny
Sit and listen if you want to know the score
It's a story that you've probably heard before
Sorry a state as I've ever been to
I'm a fighter but they got me on the floor
Don't believe I'm gonna take this any more
Wave goodbye, don't try to talk
What's there to say
The words are unimportant
It's the feeling we'll remember anyway
Wave goodbye, don't make a scene
Just let it go
Put an ending on our story
We're riding to the final round-up
This is where the old trail wound up
Here's another fine mess
And not my choosing
We loved for a while, you can't call that losing
If I knew our love was gonna end this way
I'd live it over and I wouldn1t change a day
Wave goodbye, don't try to talk
What's there to say
The words are unimportant
It's the feeling we'll remember anyway
Wave goodbye, don't make a scene
Just let it go
Don't smother love in glory
Put an ending on our story
We're riding to the final round-up
So this is where the old trail wound up
Here's another fine mess
We love for a while1 you can't call that losing
If I knew our love was gonna end this way
I'd live it over and I wouldn't change a day
Here's another fine mess

Williams, Paul Here's Another Fine Mess Comments
Perfect. I love his stylization and what a great songwriter. He epitomizes something about the 70s - some innocence, some sophistication, some fun...miss those days.
A friend of mine just got to meet Mr. Paul Williams and have their pictures taken, today! How cool is that!?! He met the real Swan!
Not a bad version, but Glens the best.
A gem in a sea of songs ! Lyrics by the one and only Paul Williams the master of songwriting in the 1960's and 70's !
Love this version of the theme song to the End.
I prefer his peppier version that was used on the home video releases of "The End." The Glen Campbell rendition just wasn't as good.
I love every version, heart heart heart...and soul soul soul <3
Wonderful version.
I'd live it over and I wouldn't change a day.... Perfect
The astonishing Paul William's.
who single-handedly...
Left thumbprints on all of our lives...
and without most-of-us...
Even realizing it.
re: "The End" with Burt/Dom DeLuise.
"Wow, what an ASS I had!"

This song always gets me. :)
a lot of things in life seem not so important after listening to this beautiful song, great lyrics
One of my favorite songs of his.
Dude was the master and nobody does his stuff better than him.
The soundtrack version has performed by Paul Williams and the movie version has performed by Glen Campbell.
"A Little on the Windy Side" was released in 1979, and being an avid Paul Williams fan I had this album. Deeply Paul, his lyrics hinted at a deeper sadness. I read his words but hear his poem, and it is dark blue. Take a swim. I just bought the CD again, thanks Wario.
David Christie Paul's genius has somehow never been widely recognised. He wrote a lot of movie music, and I guess people just wrote him off as a hired pen. Like you say, songs like this play on two levels, one fluff, one devastating. Enduring memory of my youth.
Thanks for this. I have the album on vinyl. This is HQ. Well done.
Beautiful
What a talent!
Thanks for posting the full-length version!
Glen Campbell also sang a version of this song too.
Just got done watching "The End" with Burt Reynolds- where this theme song played at "The End" (pun intended)!!
Guy, "Still Alive" is not"unauthorized" in any way, Paul was very involved in the making of the documentary.
Simply beautiful. Very cinematic bridge, too. Paul Williams is a great American melody man. His voice is unusual and unpolished, which, for this melancholy theme, is utterly perfect. Paul wrote SO MANY great tunes for so many great recording artists. Won an Oscar for Barbra Streisand's "Evergreen", from A Star Is Born. If you haven't caught the unauthorized bio-documentary "Paul Williams Is Still Alive", check it out!
... mil años buscando este tema... ni siquiera sabía como se llamaba. Graciassss!
