Williams, Lucinda - Jackson Lyrics
All the way to Jackson
I don't think I'll miss you much
All the way to Jackson
I don't think I'll miss you much
Once I get to Lafayette
Once I get to Lafayette
I'm not gonna mind one little bit
Once I get to Baton Rouge
I won't cry a tear for you
Once I get to Baton Rouge
I won't cry a tear for you
All the way to Jackson
I don't think I'll miss you much
All the way to Jackson
I don't think I'll miss you much
[SOLO]
Once I get to Vicksburg
I don't think I'll feel the urge
Once I get to Vicksburg
I won't even feel an urge
All the way to Jackson
I don't think I'll miss you much
All the way to Jackson
I don't think I'll miss you much

Boy, this song brings back memories. I remember singing this exact song when I left my dad and stepmother for good.
She's the shit
Big red sun...Lucinda Williams
She has a pulse on the soul of life. We travelers know it.
James we all do have a Jackson
No we all don't
Wow this Undiscovered treasure dang
We all have a Jackson
This song makes me want to take a truck and drive somewhere far from my home, just for the melancholy.
I'm obsessed with Lucinda's music. My sister got me into her, she is her absolute favorite artist. Songs like this melt me.
Space Gato is an awesome name!
The kind of song you could die to. Gorgeous.
Oddly enough this is the song my father asked me to play when he was dying he said i want to hear that song you used to play at five in the mornlng i had to think about it for a minute then i realised he was talking about jackson i put it on and he said yeah thats it
Check out Paige Anderson and the Fearless Kin cover of this song. Absolutely haunting. Beautiful
One off the best song writer s ever!
I love the depth and soul satisfying sound of her voice. I can almost see her making this trip
So poignant and rich. Splendid.
my very favorite song. simple and perfect
i have to agree on a spiritual level
I can not express how home sick this album cover makes me. I am from Mississippi and spent the first 28 years of my life there leaving it in a fit of anger. I miss almost nothing about that place and love my home in the Pacific Northwest now but for some reason an old single floor house with a silver propane tank in the yard at the end of a red dirt road just gets me and makes me think of home with a longing in my heart.
I traveled all over the U. S. in my 20s to try 2 forget some of the behavior I witnessed as a child in the segregated South; I can understand the nostalgia, but that place ain't here no more. It might have existed only in your mind. A place of extremes, it's like the song TOBACCO ROAD; "I despise you cause you're filthy, but I love you 'cause you're home."
oh !! thanks :) I have this album great song by lucinda " the true music "..thanks again from Casablanca , Morocco :)
