Williams Jr., Hank - Pride's Not Hard To Swallow Lyrics
I wish you'd look who's crawling back to you I never thought I'd live to see today
I swore to you the day I left this time I'd go for good
And I was even proud enough to tell myself I could
But it took a lot of lonely nights to ever change my mind
It took a lot of missing youth and things that I'd left behind
And pride's not hard to swallow once you chewed it long enough
I know we won't always see eye to eye
But if you'll take me back this time I'll really try
So many things I could have done so much I failed to do
I've never needed anyone as much as I need you
And it took a lot of lonely nights...

Williams Jr., Hank Pride's Not Hard To Swallow Comments
A year later he went mountain climbing.
And then Mountain falling.
My favorite singer since 1982.
To me it looks like Hank Williams Jr. here already found his own voice.
Before he fell off that mountain, before he found his own voice.
This song make me cry like a lil babby
I can't believe after listening to Sr. and Jr. for more than sixty years , literally for as long as I can remember , I don't recall hearing this song before. Like usual coming from him it's a good song . Thank you for sharing .
He was handsome here
He looks a little like Gene Watson
Merle Kilgore
Good stuff but Hank Jr's greatest era was from "Hank Jr. and Friends" forward.

He looks like he's been burning the candle here. Not a good fit for his voice or style of singing but he is a true pro and pulled it through like a boss... Love you hank❤️
Amanda tompkins This was before his mountain accident.
This is a good song fro back before Hank Jr becae a cartoonish parody Good song but he can't lip sync to save his life
mike dunkling you think he is lip syncing???? Your funny hahahahahaha. He ain’t Luke Bryan so get that out your head buddy.
Actually I was thinking the same thing. This is identical to the real cut. Back in the day it was common to lip sync on these shows. No harm, no shame. It was an accepted practice.
Great video. This was from my favorite era of Hank Jr's music. He recorded some really great music during that time period.
