I ordered Andy's memoir from the library. I read on-line as a struggling singer, he became involved with Hus mentor, who was nearly 20 years older. She was 38, he was 19. Ironically wasn't he nearly 15 years older than Claudine? I also read he took LSD under the supervision of his psychiatrist, when he had emotional issues after his divorcé. Thank goodness he never got addicted.

This would be a cool song at Princess Eugenie's wedding.  Wow how many times in your lifetime do you see two royal weddings?  Wow I was a kid when Eugenie and Harry were born, where did time go?

This is what my husband and I had playing when we lit our candles but in 1980. Loved it then and still do.

According to my local newspaper, song writer Johnny Cowell, long-time resident of Toronto, has died at the age of 92 (early 2018).

I found a poem written by a type writer in my piano chair... one that was passed down.. free.. I looked up the first 6 words and this shows up

My dad passed away in January of 2015 aged 96 and my mum in August aged 94. they had been married for 73 years. As their daughter I had cared for them for the last 10 years and they were always holding hands, even when they were out in the wheelchairs they had to be holding hands and sat hand in hand every evening watching the television, and every night my dad would kiss my mums hand good night. We played this Andy Williams song at my mums funeral it just seemed so fitting. such a beautiful song for two such wonderful parents

For me it was 'Call the Midwife' when I first heard this wonderful version having only ever heard Jimmy Parkinson's recording previously. This is the definitive version.

Jennifer , Your story resonates with me as both my parent were married over 60 years and both passing in their 90's always loving each other . There was something about that generation with the depression then the war I think they learned appreciation By you writing this I know you know just how lucky you were to have such great parents raise you . What you saw and learned from them will be passed on to your kids and will live for possibly generations for you came from good roots and that's a foundation to build on . Great Story Jenn Thanks

Once late on a cold autumn night I was walking hand in hand with my husband around our neighborhood.  The sound of his voice muted and I felt as though I was lifted and pulled upward into the sky. I thought my feet had left the ground. I don't know for how long. That feeling was unlike anything I had ever experienced in my life before or since. If that feeling could be transformed into a song, this would be the song.

This song is very dear to my everdearest wife Brigida and I, as it is our love theme since the Summer of 1963. Therefore, I dedicate for all eternity, this song as sung by our favorite popular singer Andy Wiliams, although other  artists made the top charts with it. I love you my duhhling (darling) Brigida !!!

Have enjoyed Andy Williams for a long time, but had never heard this song before...heard it on an episode of Call the Midwife. To me, it seems to describe a relationship with God, as much as a romantic song. Loved it - Thank You!

A very beautiful song that is timeless. Pulls at the heartstrings and reminds me of the perfect day in my life when I married the love of my life 8 years ago. Each and everyday I feel this way about my wonderful husband. I am so very luck to have someone in my life like my Harvey and this song is my new favorite to share with my love.

My favorite version of this splendid song. I just heard this version today (1/19/14) on the radio for the first time since the 1950s!  I dedicate this song in VERY loving memory of My Heavenly-resplendent Wife, My Eternal Love, My Barbra Rose (in Glory since Nov. 22, 2010). Barbra, someday very, very soon (I pray and hope) we'll live out the lyrics to this song. Barbra, My Forever Love, we'll walk hand-in-hand into the light of a thousand suns -- into Christ's Kingdom. Tony Martin's version peaked at #10 and spent 20 weeks on the Top 100, while Andy Williams' version reached #54 and stayed on the Top 100 for 11 weeks...
And one month later on May 19th, 1956 Canadian Denny Vaughn entered the Top 100 with his version, he peaked at #70...

I didn't hear Andy Williams version of this wonderful song until the 1990's. He does a nice version. Ronnie Carroll had the version that got lots of air play in the UK.

A late starter on the recording front he was already 29 when this was released, but made up for it over the years with top selling singles and albums well into his 70's, a long running tv show and still performs live into his 80's
