This song is in the last Album he has in the late 70s or early 80s. I love most if his songs, perhaps it started with Moon River, a summer place, never on Sunday etc...
With the last album I bought, got excited, and love, being this album and esp this song.
Saw his concert when he came to Singapore in early 2000. He voice dried up quite a lot, but it didn't effect any of his songs I like.

When I listen to those songs, i still remember how I felt when I listen to them in the 70s.
How come the music in the 70s is very daily regular lovely life, yet today it is like going to big party, must shout and dance violently.

Thanks to the Great Neil Sedaka who wrote the song and helped launched the Carpenters career. They won a Grammy for it. But, after Neil , this version is the best. But then, Andy Williams could take just about any song and make it his own.
Interestingly enough, I have met and interviewed all three - Sedaka, Williams and Carpenters...

This song was written by neil sedaka and sang by him but this version was the biggest hit then the carpenters had a smallish hit with it both a bit different and was given the carpenters treatment and the single version is a little different too

Andy Williams have a lot to answer for he introduce us to the Osmond on the Andy Williams show and I must confess the carpenters version of the song better.

Andy W.illiams, I first heard him sing with his brothers before he went solo and became popular, with Canadian Sunset. After hearing that song, they captured my heart, I was in my early teens. Nobody could sing that song like the Williams Brothers. I was living in London with my family and my mother lived with us, and she and I would watch the Andy Williams Show regularly for the 9 years it ran and my mother simply loved him and his voice. His Christmas specials, too, were fabulous. He has such an effortless voice- give him any song and he makes it special. Love his and the Carpenter's renditions of Solitaire. He does a lovely rendition of Stramger On The Shore, too.
I was fortunate to go to his concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Great singer and a very humble person. RIP Andy Williams- gone but not forgotten. Renee M.

Andy Williams had such a fine voice and he transmitted feeling when he sang. This song is very nice and unfortunately the song of many people who for some reason or another cannot recover from a heartbreak. But all of us who have lived enough have gone through heartbreaks so we should get up and recover. Life without love is empty and meaningless really.
