Williams, Andy - Quentin's Theme (Shadows Of The Night) Lyrics
Shadows of the night
Falling, silently
Echo of the past
Calling you to me
Veiled in misty glow
Phantom melody
Playing soft, and low
In this world that we know now
Life is here, then gone
But somewhere in the afterglow
Love lives on, and on
Dreams of long ago
Shadows of the night
Calling me to you
Calling me to you
Calling me to you

Williams, Andy Quentin's Theme (Shadows Of The Night) Comments
Apparently there is going to be a re-boot -- or more of a continuation of the original show coming up on the CW ... and the showrunner is a big fan of the original, so here's hoping it comes out okay.
hmmm... like it better with David Selby
David Shelby did a brilliant Quentin that decades later I still recall. As much as Barnabas was "Dark Shadows" David Shelby's "Quentin" really was an equally important part of that shows success.
I'm glad I got the chance to see Mr. Willams' Christmas Show with my parents in Branson, MO in 2003. He had a great voice, and the show led me to clips of his classic Christmas shows on NBC in the 1960s.
WHAT A BEATFUL SONG, I KNOW ITS FROM DARK SHADOWS, DON CURTIS N. ROBERT COLBERT WOULD BE VERY PROUD AND ALSO DAVID SELBY.
This is my favorite song. I was so in love with the Quentin character I knew when I got married, I'd name my son Quentin. Never had kids though. This is a beautiful rendition.
I love you, my Dearest. I promise that some day, we WILL be together again! I will not say "good-bye".
Beautiful!!!
There was another song for him-I ask noroses at my head or shady cypress tree but that is all I recall. Searched
Tube but it ain't there. Not a fan of andy but how would Perry Como have sounded? Or better yet Michael Crawford?
@ medic one: I believe the musical piece you are referring to is "When I Am Dead" which is on the Dark Shadows Original Music record album ( available here on YouTube). It is not a song .....nor is it about Quentin. It is a poem read by Jonathan Frid ( actor who played Barnabas on Dark Shadows) . It's selection #7 on side one of the album.
THIS song from the TV show Dark Shadows
was covered by many orchestras and singers including a cover version by Mr. Williams' pretty first wife, singer/actress Claudine Longet who sung her cover version with her usual soft delicate whispery light voice
I love her version of this, but I can't find it here anymore.
Trivia - In 1976 USA Bicentennial, President Ronald Reagan named Any Williams' voice a "National Treasure".
I think you mean Governor Reagan or President Ford in 1976.
KILLED IT and NOT in a good way! music and the way he sang it just did not do the real song justice.
NIce version of Quentin's Theme by Andy!
+paul sousa remember hearing the version sung by his first wife, singer actress Claudine Longet
she had that real faint whispry singing voice
Best, David, C.
Yes she did. Hmm I'd like to hear her version
they ruined this song it has none of its gothic feel at all
Wonderfully done by Andy Williams. This isn't the original Quentin's theme, but I love it. I am a HUGE fan of the original Dark Shadows and own the entire series. David Selby as Quentin Collins was brilliant.
This Song Did Not Hit The Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
BTW, the "Quentin" this song refers to was a character from the TV series "Dark Shadows". I've been listening to this song & album since the 70's.
You're welcome. Glad I could help.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have this album, but can no longer play it since I don't have a working record player and I just love this song!!!!!
What a wonderful rendition of Quentin's Theme! I love it!
